I used the synty animation pack, retargeted to UE4 Skeleton by me BEFORE the event. Also used some textures from their prototype asset map. I got their grid textures and modified.
(this one specifically for animation https://syntystore.com/products/animation-base-locomotion)

I used some icons and sound effects from kenny assets https://kenney.nl/data/itch/preview

I Used some alien and Concrete folley SFX from we love indies (Most of my audio is from them).

i used these assets from pixabay

I Used this character by Legend in sketchfab because I didnt want to have deafult UE4 Skeleton. Rigged it using Accurig.

I used this VFX for character dissaperence (Modified in engine to suit my needs)

I Used blender to design modular map parts and created the rest and most of the models.
All of the coding was done by me, no plugins were used.

Edit:

Please note that the downloaded files name is "doityourself.rar" instead of "ProjectShalyk_doityourself.rar". It is missing the "teamsname" at the front.

Gameplay Instructions
You played portal right? Think of it, but with less portals and more timey wimey stuff.
Start the game. If you want to get the hold of it enter playground area. If you want to jump in to the challange play the main game. You use W,A,S,D to move, E/F to interact, R to rewind(Makes sense in context). ESC to open menu, Shift to run.

In the game, every time you enter a room you are expected to press the red button to time lock yourself. Then With your actions from before you try to solve the puzzle in current. It is kinda weird. But think about it as 2 mirages following you replicating your actions from before in a locked/set amount of time.

Which Engine version did you use to create your entry?
5.6.1

What platform is your game built for?

Windows

Which Theme did you created your game based on?

Impressive :) Every Portal fan will love it. The controls are absolutely smooth for a game jam entry!

Developer

Thanks :D I tried to keep controls simple, but during the jam wished i used the  source 2 movement codes from GitHub that would hit the nail in the head. Decided it was late and just sticked with my own.  Reference for interested: https://github.com/ProjectBorealis/PBCharacterMovement

Hey! I made a rough walkthrough of the game since no one else had uploaded any yet. Feel free to check it out!

Awesome, thank you!

I can’t tell you how happy I am to have finally found a game that gives me the same feeling as the Portal series. The time-rewind mechanic is an excellent addition and works incredibly well as a core gameplay element. Did you really make all of this during the jam?

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Well Hello there! Comments like this warms my heart. I really hoped that the portal-esque feeling passed through the gameplay.

And yes, I did the mechanics in a week and I am so proud hehe. At first I've planned and mapped out what I was going to code and it was smooth sailing from there.  Also for the models, I never really modeled anything for a game before, only for 3d printing, But since they were all pretty simple, I just tried to copy the look of the portal and It turned out pretty okay :D

I really wanted to add voice over, narrative texts to all of the levels, guide pictures as tutorials  (similar to portal) and make the pressure plates more visually pleasing etc.  but as I learned from last time you can't have everything in a game jam. What do you know this might be a full fledged game in the future :D

Wow, it’s really impressive to make all of this in one week. As far as I can tell, everything was perfect. Even without voice-over, it really captures that Portal feeling. Maybe you should join the Half-Life 3 dev team so they can finally release it faster.
