Game description
Waves is a simple exploration game where actions like walking, collecting, remembering, tell a story.

You begin as a child exploring a peaceful beach, gathering shells for a birthday gift. You have a chance encounter and a fun afternoon with your new friend.
But when disaster strikes the coast, you and your mother must fight to survive, your lives forever changed.

Years later, you return to the drowned remains of your home. Explore a sunken city, uncover objects that trigger brief memory clips, and walk through the remnants of your old life.

Theme interpretation
I interpreted the theme for my game by starting on a beach beside the ocean and then with a tsunami as the main event of the game. Also the player experiences waves of memory when returning home and interacting with certain objects. There's also a more subtle story theme of things being swept away by waves and then washed back up years later.
