I like this game. I wish there was a scoreboard. The art, the composition of the scene, the gameplay, the angrybirdiness of it, the sound effects, it works well! 5/5
BTW, I got 82 and I didn’t notice upgrades? What do they do and how do I use them in-game?
OK, I figured out there is a cluster upgrade and I got 140~ I wish there was a score board.
Such a good concept. It is kind of like if Worms was less TNG based.
Really fun game , nice job!! Core mechanic is great and the unlockable upgrades are a good touch, the present cluster bomb was very fun to use. Slingshot mechanic feels intuitive and responsive, with great bits of juice like the way the present tumbles through the air and the slight screenshake when hitting something. UI could be improved but its only a couple day jam so totally understandable (I didn't dock you points for it). Great entry, fun core gameloop, keep up the good work!!
edit: high score of 61. Also, like another comment said having to wait for the "no score" text was a bit annoying as you want to get right back into throwing a new package with the slightly different angle that is "definitely going to work this time". Maybe skipping this transition part when the player clicks and drags to initiate a new throw would work?
Thank you for taking the time to play and leave a detailed comment! I'm really glad you mentioned the present tumbling through the air and other bits of juice, I spent quite a bit of time on stuff like locking the present to the z-axis but still letting it rotate freely across all axes.
If I had some more time, I would have tightened up the loop (or even let you throw the next present immediately), made the UI fit the theme a bit more, and maybe added more powerups to the progression.
I really appreciate the feedback, and will use it to keep improving.
Amazing! I think we have the winner here, good job dude keep going!
Thank you for the compliment, it means a lot! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
That was really fun! I am really impressed with how much feedback you give the player, that was enjoyable. The theme, the concept, all inspired for Christmas. Thank you for making this!
Thank you so much! I had a few goals for this project, and one of them was satisfying player feedback in a 3D game. And also I really wanted to connect the theme to the gameplay, which you also noticed!
I really appreciate the kind words and the follow, and playing enough to get 80 points!.
Excellent work! The style, the gameplay, the elements are all a lot of fun and made me want to keep trying!
The only critiques I have is that the "no score" was really annoying, it slowed down the game too much. When the distance got farther and more houses showed up, it made it really hard to aim and control. It felt like you had to relearn the controls every time the map got bigger. All that to say, this is amazing! You did such a good job!
Wow, thanks for the kind comments and the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed playing!!
I tried to figure out a way to get the "misses" to not take as long, so good call on that critique. Basically, the game manager has a state machine for the game loop, and when a present is still "moving" it won't transition onto the next loop and let you throw another present. I have a few potential solutions in mind, but didn't have time to get to them. As for relearning the controls, that was kind of the point, but I meant to add an indicator that showed how much stronger you got or something and just forgot to implement it 😅
Thanks again for the feedback!
Absolutely, you did an awesome job! Yeah, that all makes sense, the indicator would've helped, or if there was any way to make it so you could pull back further as the distance got longer, if that makes sense!
Fun game! Like Angry Birds but with a greater focus on precision. Controls feel good.
I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for taking the time to play. Yeah, Angry Birds (or at least my memory of playing it 12 years ago) was a partial inspiration.
I enjoy the process! Really responsive controls :)
Thanks for taking the time to play! I hoped the controls were a decent mix of easy to understand and play, but not make the game too easy.
Wow this is lovely! Feels like I'm playing basketball with the presents!
Awesome, that's exactly the feeling I was going for! Thanks for taking the time to play.
Fun game! My best score's 45~
Hope you trying my own too :D
Thanks for taking the time to play enough to get that good of a score!!
