This is very cool, you know how to draw and pass emotions through games!

As the others I've also struggled to get the good ending, although I understood the mecanics, it always felt like that when I was releasing the mouse button the character would move too fast towards the wrong direction to make it possible for me to make a come-back. If you have any tips on this, I'm happy to give it another shot as I really want to see him say hi!

Developer

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words.

You are right, the 'release' speed can be quite punishing! My best tip is to try  tapping the mouse button rather than doing long holds and releases. Lots of small clicks usually work better than big movements to keep him in the "Green" zone, if you seeing the shadow in green most of the time you are doing it right. Hope that helps you get the 'Hi'!

The cinematic is wonderful. The music and the Story in your description is poetic and lovely. But I don't feel holding the left mouse button makes any difference besides the guy splitting. You still see the images of the potential future playing in the background regardless of the mouse press.

What do the red and green colors of the split images of the guy symbolize?

Developer

Thank you for the kind words about the music and atmosphere!

To answer your question: The colors represent the boy's internal state. Green represents the 'sweet spot' of courage, while Red means the tension is off-balance (over-thinking).

You see the future images in both versions because he is always imagining it, but the ending changes depending on your input. If you can keep the shadow Green for enough time, you will unlock the another ending. I hope you give it another try! Thanks again for trying my work!

Absolute cinema on the atmosphere and narrative, but the main mechanic was just confusing. I never figured out what to do or felt i was getting any feedback on my inputs.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for the compliment! That means a lot.

You are totally right about the mechanics—I was experimenting with minimizing the UI and text to maximize the cinematic atmosphere, but I think I went a little too far and made it confusing! To clarify: once the characters get passed each other, you just need to Hold and Release Left Click to balance the boy's 'courage tension.'

If you are willing to give it another shot to see the Good Ending, you can press 'T' to skip the intro and jump straight to the gameplay. Thanks again for the feedback!
