This was awesome, the sneaking and skateboarding is a great combo. After opening the gate and walking through it the game goes back to the office section, is this intentional? Also props for adding the lite version.

Thanks! Yes I didn't finish the third level in time and also couldn't squeeze it in under the filesize limit (I will do that with my update in a few days so please check back) so it loops back to level 1 for now

Nice to see a game tackle the Skate or Spy optional secondary theme!

awesome concept and I loved the visuals! Question, though: is the player meant to lose control for a few seconds after grinding on a rail?

Developer (1 edit)

Yes rails are super janky in this build I'll have an update once the jam is finished that lets you dismount in either direction and no more sticky behavior, the first grind in my clip (at 0:10) in the comments here you can actually see me get stuck on the rail and then caught by a secret agent because of it haha

Thank you for playing!

neat game! I enjoyed the skate mechanic, great work there. The game overall was a bit hard, but in an engaging way. Once you got hang of the controls it was really neat to skate around and snipe enemies with the shuriken!

The part I liked the most is that you can complete the main (city) level in a few different ways. There’s no “coridor” that would tell you, how you’re supposed to play. The skating mechanics are pretty impressive too, as well as the shurikens!

I'm glad you noticed that although I will need to find a way to funnel players through specific encounters where they learn how to do the EMP blast and stuff you really can just go straight for the exit if you can manage to not get killed by the agents! Thanks for playing

Great balance among difficulty and reward. Playing this game implies failing a lot, but as much as you fail, you learn and progress. I liked the bold use of the skate board as a base mechanic, and how it relates to avoiding enemies. Ninja stars feel like a skip-token for such mechanic, which is a great asset regarding the one-hit policy and the overall difficulty. There happened a little bug to me (for the record so you can review it): if you go upstairs without getting the device, the map will not change once you go down to get it and get up again, not until you die and repeat the level.

Thank you so much for playing and reporting that bug! I look forward to updating the build in a few days when the Jam is over and will fix that as well as include the third level I couldn't squeeze in in time.

Here is 56 seconds of gameplay from the Jam submission build! I'm going to make a full game of this jam submission so let me know what you think!

I had a web build ready but it wasn't under the filesize limit and I had to cut the third level (which was incomplete anyway) to fit this build, but I will update the game after the jam is over with bugfixes and squeeze in that third level! I might even get the web player build up
