Neat game! You nailed the core mechanic if avoiding the lights and stay stealthy and the enviroment looks really nice!
Nice game, quite tough!
I'm working on adding more levels and a better ending.
This is quintessential stealth and you do have to think about your approach. A solid core for a strategic top down spy kind of game!
I love the text at the beginning, you're not breaking out, you're breaking in, got me hyped. And it's an interesting premise with the contained fire and the cellar, well written intro and ending. I like the guards vision cones too. If the game was any longer being forced to start from the beginning every time you die would be too cruel, these kinds of tile puzzles you want to be able to try over and over. Nice work!
This reminded me of the Commandos saga! Curious that you used GDevelop, I didn't know about it. Beyond that, puzzles are clear and challenge is easy to understand. I encourage you to go for Godot Engine next, I think the talent you put here would be enhance with a little more parametric control. Great job!
I used GDevelop because it isn't blocked on my school computer. Also cause it is pretty simple and has good capability with 2d and 3d. I could've made it better but I didn't have much time.
Also, I've never used Godot, what is it like?
Godot is node-based, which means everything is a part of a giant tree. You build branches and then you put all the tree together. It's free software and you've got a great community and a lot of documentation. You can get it here. It compiles for windows, gnu/linux, html5 and mac. I'd say that it is the greatest competitor to Unreal and Unity nowadays. It helps you build from the bottom up and everything that works can be easily re-used in your next games. LLM's such as ChatGPT make the workflow very agile. IMO, as I tried other engines, this has the best workflow anyways. A good chance to try it in your incoming jam! You can have a glimpse of what you can get here ;)
The game has great potential! Animations and tiles are smooth, as well as the tricky level design. However, the fact you have to start from the first level after dying is a bit annoying. Also the ingame sounds or music are clearly intendet, but it seems there was no time for it. Overall, this game is cool!
Yeah, I didn't have time for sound or better animations.
Animations are nice! The scene appears very alive!
