Beautiful graphics, ball models are neat! Game is unfinished and have some bugs (cue not respawning), but you can never go wrong with pool game:)

One more thing about aiming - when I've tried to do shot from distance, it's hard to have aim with precision, because it's 'jumping' to many pixels so it's not possible to have a perfect shot.

Developer

Oh, I implemented it so you can press shift to aim precisely but I forgot to write it in the description.

Ah I see. You can still add it to the description I think.

Developer

...I didn't even think of doing it now...

The game looks really neat! The lighting and the models really make it look great. I'm also glad to know that I'm just as bad at pool games as I am in real life. I just felt like the physics were a bit weird when close to a hole? The ball starts moving side to side for some reason, maybe an "entering the hole" animation, but while staying on the table.

Very good job nonetheless!

Thanks! The physics are janky for sure, but I think I've mostly figured it out for the post jam version. There's no animation for potting, it's just very broken.

The physics simulation here is very nice. I really wish you had been able to finish this, it really feels like it would have been great for the jam. Small tasks that would have made for a lot of benefit would have been some stock/free music and a sound effect for when balls hit eachother.

Developer

Thanks! I wish I had used my time better but I didn't. I did want to do collision sound effects but ended up focusing on other things.

Nice work on the lighting and 3d modeling! I did run into a potential bug though, my cue ball went into one of the holes and never respawned even though no balls were moving. Maybe the threshold to check for whether something is moving or not is too low?

Thanks! Yeah I'm not sure about the exact cause, I'll look into it if i work on this post-jam though.

Edit:

Don't look too closely at the pool table model, I did it in CAD and attempted to clean it up in blender as I'm awful at 3D modelling. It's part of why the physics are kind of broken too.

This was fun to play! I really like pool so it's always cool to see it in video game form. I think one thing that could take this to the next level would be audio feedback and the sound of balls hitting the table walls and each other. Not sure how you'd do that but I just feel like it'd make everything even more satisfying to play! Nicely done

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Audio was planned, and the idea was to make it roguelite and chaotic (think balatro) but I had to do other stuff on Sunday when I was planning to finish everything.

It's nice to know I'm just as bad at the video game version of pool as I am in real life. 馃槀 Just a quick note: You might want to edit your itch page to include how to hit. I expected the mechanic to be more like peggle in that the cue would go once I let go of my mouse button. It took me a minute to figure out I was supposed to hit space.

Does clicking not work for you?

Edit: nvm i'm dumb it's right click

Edit 2: done

I didn't even think to try right click. I blame lack of sleep from staying up late last night (this morning) to finish our submission.

Developer

Nah, entirely my fault for not saying it in the first place
