Game description
Jump rope with your friends in this heartwarming arcade game! Master your timing through single the rope(s) challenges, then face the mean kids trying to mess around in the playground.

But this isn't just about surviving—it's about bringing everyone together. Through a simple act of kindness, discover how the playground can become a place where everyone belongs.

Features perfect dodge mechanics that reward skillful play, hand-composed piano music, and a touching story about inclusion and friendship.

Theme interpretation
I interpreted "Waves" through multiple layers:

Visually: The rope creates a literal wave pattern that travels across the screen. Players must predict where this wave will "crash" on the ground to time their jumps perfectly.

Mechanically: The game progresses through waves of difficulty—starting with a single rope, building to double dutch, then facing waves of challenges as mean kids disrupt the game with bouncing balls and interference.

Emotionally: The game explores waves of emotion. It begins with joy and confidence, moves through frustration and conflict when the mean kids appear, reaches a climax of chaos, and finally resolves into a warm wave of kindness when you help the fallen child. The emotional arc mirrors the up-and-down motion of the rope itself.

I enjoy this game a lot! The gameplay is simple but addicting. I really like the visual and audio in this game.

This is one of my favorites! You nailed the theme in several ways, which is very impressive. And although this gameplay and art style aren't for me personally, I feel like they really do complement the theme and likely the intended audience. I also was caught off guard by the mean kids in a fun way. That moment carried a lot of emotional weight for something that could have just been a minigame!

Wow, thanks for your comment! Very impressive that, despite not being your cup of tea on gameplay/art, you could appreciate the game.

Hope you made it to the end!

It is a bit evil, because it looks kid :D

It is a fun game, I liked it.

Just a note: Maybe I was blind, but I didn't find, how I can close the game. I had to use ALT+F4.
It would be better if there is  an exit button or it should be closed by ESC.

Hey, thanks for your time!

You are right, there is no close button. I had in mind the idea to export to web to embed it - this is what I didn't think of having a close button, but in the release day I saw pretty important differences in the way it was displayed in itchio, so I had to fallback to native windows. And, of course, didn't think of that. New learning for the next time: take time for the itchio size, or add an esc button :)
