This is such a bright and bubbly track. Very PS1 style as others have mentioned. I think you could subtly some post effects to bring out the depth a bit but that's a matter of taste. Good job.

Such a cool track! It does in fact remind me of some N64 tracks (like Koopa Troopa Beach, Mario Kart 64), you really achieved everything you went for, great job!
And of course I loved bubble synth as well :) Perhaps, if I were you I'd probably shifted the whole bubble track a few ms earlier to compensate for its slower attack. Especially at the solo, it seems to water-down the groove (pun absolutely intended).
And "playing steel drums in middle school"?! Now I'm absolutely jealous! Such a wonderful instrument, yet so unobtainable in most of Europe (at least at the time, nowadays you can probably get one for $100 from thomann or something).
I agree with you on the bubble synth! I questioned my settings, but then also enjoyed the little bit of chaos it injected.
We raised money for a year to be able for our rural public middle school (aka WE LOVE FOOTBALL over funding arts) to have the steel drum set. Our band teacher was new and an advocate so it became a part of the band program there. Really lucky I crossed paths with that teacher.

And yeah, public schools in general do not like funding any art much. Not really surprising, still kinda sad though. But, you know the drill: If an artist is not starving, it is not *real* art :P and football is our NATIONAL SPORT! ~Said everyone in every country ever. For some reason.

I followed a tutorial and then modified it as needed! And yes, it provides the atmosphere. I also personally love the bubble synth solo 😂
Not an expert in vintage consoles or chiptune, but this is such a bright, cheerful track — it instantly made me smile and think of Spongebob Squarepants. Personally, I just would have liked a denser, more dynamic arrangement.
