I like this game. Can't even begin to imagine how you pull off figuring out which sprites to show on the player.

Developer(+1)

I’m glad you like it 😁🍄

I’m not sure if I understood what you mean, but in Godot scenes are used a lot, and I switch between them or between sprites if they’re static.

Submitted

Oh like, so when the ball is rolling left or right, the the sprite rotates on the axis you view it at, but you're also showing a faked rotation using more sprites for when it's moving up or down to stimulate rolling up or down as well, and then the actual face changes too so it probably uses lots of sprites 😳

I said I can't imagine how so I can't exactly explain it either. 😅

Developer(+1)

Ah, you meant that? What I did was make 8 sprites per ball: looking up, down, front, and back, plus the 4 intermediate directions. Then I added lateral rotation in the engine by changing its angle, with a small correction so it slowly straightens out when you move up or down, so it doesn’t feel like you’re doing weird or unnatural movements.

Lovely game! Coulnd't enjoy the pretty victory snowwoman/snowman because I was being chased by the icy monsters T-T

Fun and enjoyable game ^^

Developer

This isn’t the first comment I’ve received saying that the snowman isn’t clearly visible. I’m already working on fixing it and adding a post-credits scene, one for each ending.

And I really appreciate all the kind words you’ve given me.

A very simple yet engaging game once you figure out the premise (The arrow really helped with that).
It wasn't clear what the choice at the end was suppose to be, but choosing both options on two different runs I realized was part of the ending which was fun to explore.

Developer(+1)

I can see that I need to improve the beginning a lot to make it more intuitive. I’m glad you enjoyed it and that you were curious enough to replay it 😁🍄

Love your art! Goblin glade is so awesome. This one is great too.

Lot’s of mechanics going on, had to read the description. Maybe some snow particles or such when you rub the snowman to hammer in you’re doing something, the ball shrinking and metter slowly building flew past me on first playtrough. Also not sure if I like the ball shrinking when you change faces, the first reaction was that I’m doing something wrong, but I take there’s no downside. Absolutely love how the ball rolls and appreciate the arrow showing what to do next.

Absolutely beautiful, polished art. And the gameplay while a tad cryptic was very enjoyable. Great stuff!

Thank you very much, I’m really glad you enjoyed both my jam game and the one I already had uploaded.

Yeah, I was missing a bit more visual feedback for the player to clearly know what they’re doing right and what they aren’t,  I’ll keep polishing that later on. The particle idea is a good one.

I’m really looking forward to finding some free time to try out yours as well

Wow this is really good, really polished and plays great :0 The art is really good, andits really polished!

You sure you didn’t open the wrong game?! 👀

Seriously though, it really made me happy to hear you enjoyed it. I’ll be trying your games this Wednesday and leaving feedback on each one.

Thanks Gerenidddddddddddddddd!!!!!

I looked through your profile, your art is really cool, I love your artstyle, it's really nice and clean. If you ever wanted to do another jam game I'd love to help in some way haha

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, I’d be happy to team up in the next jam. By the way, which game engine do you program in?

Submitted

Unity for this one, but I've used Godot, unreal, my own custom one, all sorts before haha.

Which do you use?

Developer

A custom engine??! I think that’s already beyond my understanding of programming.

I’ve always used Godot, and I’m thinking about trying Unity since I want to learn how to combine 3D with 2D to make something in the style of Cult of the Lamb, and I’m not sure whether Godot will be able to give me the tools I need.

Submitted

Ive never tried mixing 2D and 3D in godot, but i have in unity (to make a nsfw goblin game, no less!) and yeah it works pretty good there. Although it should be possible in most engines to do that.

also btw do u wanna talk on discord? would be easier than itch.io comments haha. my account is gerenidddd there too

Developer(+1)

Oooh, I have to try that game too and see how the experience feels, especially if it’s about goblins.

I guess I need to explore 3D in Godot.

Yeah, I think I sent you a request — if you want, after reading this message you can edit it for privacy.

game page seems to be private, and i cant access it, was that on purpose?

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I wanted to keep it private since I uploaded it ahead of time, then I forgot to change it 😅

Now everything should be in order.
