When I saw the controls I was disappointed because I thought it was a 2 player local pong-like game, but the concept ended up being a fun and unique single player game, even if I was terrible at controlling both ship things. I was also inspired by asteroids in my game, but your concept is one of the most unique I've seen. The style and sound was great too, good job!
Mind boggling! No, really, my brain was delightfully hypnotised with how the camera/ships move around. Maybe a bit less challenge at the start (less asteroids or smaller level) and possibly roguelite metaprogression on top and the game can be easily sold in Steam. Very solid entry, 5/5 from me.
Really fun! Love the artstyle! GG!
Very interesting concept, I really liked the mind-bending nature of the controls. Everything feels realy polished. Great job!
Really unique concept, kinda feels like if you mixed pong with a twin-stick shooter, with a really satisfying feel to everything, I especially liked how the camera movement felt.
Great work. The aesthetics remind me of my school days, ha ha ha. It’s very entertaining, congratulations!
The art style and polish on this one are incredible! It's also a really unique control scheme. I really liked it
Found it fun! Pretty difficult on keyboard & preferred the setting w/o rotating camera. Would be fun as couch co-op possibly.
I guess what made the rotating camera difficult for me was that I lost my bearings often and that I found it difficult to control or predict how the camera would rotate.
Thanks for playing!
I'm glad someone used the camera settings, so it wasn't a waste of time adding them lol.
Co-op seems to be a common feature people would like. Adding it will be an interesting challenge, but I'm committed now.
I'm realizing the camera motion is similar to skid steering (left side fwd and right side back makes you turn right), which I'm pretty accustomed to, so it seemed like a perfectly reasonable control scheme (although it is much easier on controller).
Really original and I loved the graphic, very good game. Merry Christmas
I unfortunately wasn’t able to test on controller, since for some reason Firefox just wasn’t detecting it properly, so I can only speak on how it feels to play on keyboard. Which is a shame, since I feel like it would feel really good on a controller. I think the premise is very creative, having the two ships to control and fire from, but it is a bit difficult to work with mentally. I personally felt like it was too difficult to avoid things with how it rotated when moving either ship, but I don’t think there’s really solution to that and is just something the player has to adjust to. I really loved the presentation, the paper scribble like graphics are extremely charming.
I like the graphing paper artstyle a lot! The mechanics were also unique and fun once I fully understood how to use them. Another comment said this as well, but I think a full coop system would be a fantastic addition.
Ok this one is like pong and astroid and it's also like 10x funner than both of it's components. I mean who doesn't wanna play tennis with a meteor destroying orb of destruction. An easy 5 star for me.
I really enjoyed this game! Playing with keyboard made it a bit more annoying, but even with that, very much enjoyed!
Quite an interesting and satisfying game!
Personally too hard for me) Wish it could be played in coop.
Took time to get used to, but quite fun, great game!
I broke my keyboard while playing this: 1000/10
The twin-stick controls felt very effective here, especially with the inertia-based movement. Once I adjusted, drifting and repositioning became really satisfying, and it encouraged more deliberate movement rather than constant shooting.
The core mechanic feels strong, and the game was genuinely fun to play.
I found the controls a real brain adjustment that took a while to feel out. It was interesting how it felt like sometimes the best thing to do when a high combo was racking up was to avoid your own magnet ball - though I'm not sure if that was intended, it was fun!
Really stand out artstyle, I think conceptually getting the double ships to feel good was a tall ask and I'm not quite sure if it stuck the landing.
I think you did great stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it. The rotating 2D camera is certainly a polarizing feature - playtesters either loved it or hated it. I also had an implementation with no rotating camera (which you can try out in the settings) - I find that even harder to play with though. I definitely prefer playing with a gamepad.
Yeah avoiding the ball in certain situations is definitely intentional. There is an exploit here that I never got around to fixing where you get the ball trapped in the I-beam and let it bounce forever, accruing points.
Thank you for the feedback!
It had very good game-feel, art style, and was very polished. pretty enjoyable though I found the game a bit too easy ;)
Love the sketchy art style used for the game, really stands out well!
