How did you implement the Theme?
The theme was Light. I implemented it within the game's scope, where Santa Claus must deliver presents to restore Light to the city. Light was also implemented into his attack power when fighting the villain.

How did you add the Special Object?
The special object was a bell. It was implemented both in the villain's appearance and in the weapon he used.

Here's my playthrough of your game at the 8:52 mark of this video!

Developer

This is really cool! Thank you for playing my game ๐Ÿ˜

I had some troubles starting the game, but I got there eventually. Well done for making this :)

Developer

oh yes. I had a problem exporting the godot game to the web version. The font appears to have been corrupted on the play button and the symbol was not visible during the game. and the buttons themselves had a problem when configuring them, they stopped working. Using the keys was something I had an idea for since I wouldn't have any more time to play with the game before the end of the Jam.

I love the drawings you made for this game. The game was also easy to beat since I could just spam the space bar and the Q keys to drop a bunch of presents while fending off Uncle Ice at the same time.

Nice jam submission!

Developer

Yes, the idea was a simple game, since I'm still learning how to program. and I kind of wanted to remember the browser flash games I played when I came home from school in the 2000s, something simple, fast and not that difficult. ๐Ÿ˜…

I find the drawings very enjoyable. They give a familial feeling, very christmasy like. Nice work

Developer

Oh, that's great! I'm glad you liked the designs. It was meant to be really cozy. Thanks for the feedback! ๐ŸŽ„

Love to see some homemade assets! Great style that fits the game very well. Simple and fun.

Developer

Haha, that's the highest compliment! The funny thing is that all the assets are ALREADY hand-drawn — by me! ๐Ÿ˜„ Reading that the style matched and conveyed that fun simplicity is exactly the feedback I was hoping for. Thanks a lot!

Liked it. Would have liked to be able to play it full screen. Found it fun to spam dropping presents, even though you can only get one in each house!

Developer

That's great that you enjoyed the gift dynamic! That's exactly right, the idea was to be simple, repetitive, and addictive, but with that little bit of controlled frustration of only getting one per house. Your comment shows that it worked! ๐Ÿ˜

And I noted the full-screen point! Thank you for the suggestion and for playing!

Ignoring some visual bugs and unfinished elements, the truth is that the game is good; admittedly, the controls don't quite convince me, but otherwise it's fine

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the direct feedback! Yes, the unfinished elements and bugs are a legacy of the short jam time, so I appreciate your patience. ๐Ÿ˜…

But I'm glad the essence of the game worked for you. Regarding the controls, that's an important point. I'll keep that in mind for next time. If you have any more specific suggestions about what didn't work, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks for playing and commenting!

Loved the art!

Developer

Thank you for the compliment. This is the first time I've done illustrations for a game that aren't pixel art. I think it's still a little buggy, especially the chimney, but I'll keep that in mind next time.

I love the art style it's so nice than you drew even the comics too! Really cool

Cool game! The game really reminded me of older flash games. Great Job, and Happy Holidays

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed the game. I really wanted to convey the idea of flash games where you basically just play to pass the time, a really quick game.
