Game description
A narrative-driven pixel-art RPG built with Phaser 3.

You play as an adventurer caught in a loop. Every day, you wake up in a hospital with no memory of who you are. Your only anchor is a Diary.

Key Features:
- Procedural Generation: Every trip to the forest is unique.
- Diary System: Your notes are the only thing that survives the reset.
- Survival: Fight enemies and gather resources before the day ends.

Theme interpretation
I interpreted the theme WAVES metaphorically as waves of forgetting.

Much like the ocean washes away footprints on the sand, the protagonist's memories are washed away every night. The game is a struggle to build a "breakwater" against these waves using the Diary system.

Additionally, the gameplay follows a rhythmic wave structure: wake up (low tide), explore and survive tension (high tide), fall/reset (crash), and repeat.

Thus the interpretation is expressed in three aspects:
1. Waves of Enemies - Survival combat in the forest.
2. Waves of Time - Death creates temporal loops (waking up again).
3. Waves of Memory - Memories return in fragments via the diary.

Thank you for your attention and for the opportunity to present the game to the world.

Nice game! I got the shield and then died. Really punishing to restart from the very beginning haha!

Developer

Thanks, maybe I’ll look into some checkpoints for future updates!

Very intriguing game! Though it's very early in development I see how having the core gameplay fleshed out and a dope story it can totally have a hook.

Developer

Thank you! I really put a lot of hard work into this, especially since it was my first experience developing with Phaser 3. It means a lot that you appreciated it and left such a kind comment!

Cool little game, I thought all the art was nicely tied together. I wish when I died it reset me in the forest instead of at the very beginning of the game.

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you liked the art style, and thanks for the feedback regarding the restart point — it’s very helpful!

Really cool idea! I was also originally planning on something with memory so I'm really happy to see a jam entry take that idea and run with it! Gameplay was fun and the story unfolding was very nice!

Developer

Thank you so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed the game. The memory theme was something I was excited to explore, so it means a lot to hear that it resonated with you!

I like the idea of a resetting memory as "waves", but it was a bit hard to see that play out in the game. The diary entries don't seem to line up with my actions, and it's not clear if I'm "remembering" something or if I'm "recording" something. I was also kind of confusing what caused a "next day" reset vs ... being forced to restart.

Developer

Great feedback, thank you! It helps me see exactly where the gameplay gets confusing.

the gameplay is fun, and the story is compelling. I really like the idea and it was executed pretty well! I think it owuld have benefited from some more audio and sprites, but other than that it was super fun!

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked the story.
