- I enjoyed the writing for this entry, and how you tied in the jam's theme! While the theme weaves into Beast killing the Daughter's ties with the Court by the two getting intimate in the cabin, I also interpreted the Court "killing" them both (metaphorically, of course) slowing by keeping them apart. Tale of the Court's Daughter and The Beast is a much more quiet, subdued entry compared to the other games that were submitted (i.e. lack of sprites, flashy artwork or cinematography). For a work like this, that's not a bad thing and I think adding in flashy or over the top elements would've hurt it. However, I think more subtle, less dramatic VFXs or even SFXs could've been used instead to help with immersion.
- I think this kinetic novel has some of the best writing among the NoveJam submissions, with rich symbolism, beautiful prose, and a strong flow written from both the daughter’s and the beast’s POV. The BGM choice was also excellent, though I do wish the developer would put more work into the visuals next time.
How does this project relate to the jam theme? (Judge Question)
I can't answer it without spoiling the story, so here it goes... SPOILER ALERT: the Beast didn't actually kill the Court's Daughter, but he did "kill" her ties to the Court, allowing them to live together outside of it. the act was done out of love, and therefore it is a "soft" killing
