I enjoyed the visuals a lot, and the level design is good! Well done :) I also had troubles figuring out how to get our of the house so maybe iterate a bit on the structure of the starting level would help with that. Maybe starting on a different point, or guiding the player in a different way than to read the notes of the bood. Overall, fine entry for sure!

How did you implement the Theme?
We utilize lights in the game mechanic to maintain the player’s sanity and prevent harm from the darkness. To do this, the player must remain in the light, as well as create light by lighting lamp posts and replacing decorations to generate more light.
How did you add the Special Object?
We used the Bell as the main tool to light things up, by ringing the jingle bell, the lights come out.
We also based the bell on the major building in the entire game, the Bellhouse, which is a lighthouse, but instead of a light, it’s a giant bell on top.
