I'm creating a Harry Potter horror/survival game for fun (with a Backrooms influence). Hermione falls into a damaged Room of Requirement and you have to help her find a way out. The magic is broken after the war, so everything is warped and she's not the only person (or creature) in there.

Looking for other artists, writers, designers, programmers (using UE blueprints), whatever roles to team up and add more levels. I can cover most roles, so I'm flexible. This isn't for a game jam specifically, just a hobby project to experiment with things to use on other games. And I wanted to recreate some of the sets to explore (I'm mostly a programmer but wanted to work on my environment/art skills a bit).

Hope you don't get copyright striked. Good luck though! Send me updates! Can't hurt playing another horror game.

There's already a load of HP fan games out there (about 60 on this site alone). They don't seem to care as long as you're not making money off them (which I won't - this is just for fun/learning and won't be sold anywhere). And JKR has said that she's cool with fan works IF they are clearly marked that way and not commercialised. Obviously I'll use different music, etc compared to the films, so WB can't complain either.

Still working on this and looking for people to team up with (especially writers/designers).

Damaged castle corridors (I still need to add more rubble, the paintings and a few other things).

Room of Requirement a week (ish) after getting firebombed.

Wow! That looks absolutely amazing.

Thanks! The premise is that after the battle the magic in the RoR is broken due to all the damage. So she ends up in some dark/twisted place that builds itself off her memories and then other people you meet who are also trapped down there. So it's like the Backrooms/liminal-space games, but set in the HP world rather than a modern one.

I'm still working out the last few 'levels' and where/who you meet at what point and the lore behind it. To begin with, it's a bunch of Hermione's memories and she spends the first part of the game walking around alone, but finding blood and other evidence left by survivors in the past. Then you see messed up versions of the school and other places she knows and eventually catch up to and can decide to team up/trade with other people in there (at least the friendly ones).

As with other backroom style games, chairs behave really strangely and won't always stay in the same place as the environment is alive.

Dollhouse room from one of Hermione's memories. I haven't decided what else to add in here yet, but you escape via the back of the wooden house via a long tunnel.

You walk through the back of the dollhouse into a sprawling maze of wooden tunnels, stairs and rooms...

I

It then becomes a warped memory of the dentist office where her parents worked.

Then a setting from Alice In Wonderland (her favourite book as a child, plus I like the surreal/trippy world in Alice Madness). The cylinders are placeholders for stone statues of the characters, which look asleep.

You find blood when you first fall into the room. Then more trails of blood and other items  at various points that you follow.

I'm just blocking in the rough layout of everything for now. Once the core game is built, I'll go back and swap things out and make it look more realistic/interesting and have more items you can interact with. There will be Rift style puzzle and things you have to do, not just a scary walking sim.

I spent the summer planning out the main plot and the entire level structure for about 100 different 'areas' (although some are smaller or you can skip them depending on the route you take).

Still in the Alice In Wonderland part of Hermione's memories. The bridge will build itself as you walk along it, like the bricks in Diagon Alley.

Starter area, where you fall through from the Room of Requirement and quickly realise that your wand is useless. I still want to add more 'broken things'.
