Love how you have to sacrifice something at the start to be able to move! The visuals match very well with the grim atmosphere you went for. Don't know if it's just with me, but I found parrying to be a bit too easy and that led to me being able to grind to max gems every time just before finishing a room and moving on to the next one and also to the boss not being very tough. By the way, congrats on winning the previous Mini Jam!

Thank you, I thought it would be a nice and quick way to teach the player how to use the tablet. As for the difficulty, it's tough to balance with so many different types of players, I try to keep it on the easier side to not frustrate people, but as you'll see in the comments, plenty of people still found it too hard, but I'd rather you beat it and find it too easy, then quit and never get to experience the full game! And thank you again, I was really happy how that last game turned out!

The atmosphere was awesome. Screenshots alone made me want to play the game. The main mechanic is also a really good use of the limitation. The revolver mechanic reminds me of Endoparasitic. There's not much I can complain about. If I had to nitpick, the death screen is a bit too abrupt.

Just out of curiosity - because you only listed Unity as the software you used - did you make the art and music yourself?

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the lovely comment, never recieved feedback on my screenshots before but it's greatly appreciated! Sorry about the death screen- it was one of the last things I added haha. And yes, all art and music was made by me within the five day time period, I never know whether the software section means just the engine or not.

Very neat idea and very intuitive once you look at the tablet screen. Moving the gems around feels a little clumsy, but it's very tactile and feels deliberate. Would have appreciated some feedback for when I hit an enemy. Was hard to tell if I was missing my shots or if they just had more health.

Being able to assign gems to a default location on pickup like health or ammo would have been really helpful.

Also cool that you can straight up remove elements like sfx and music. Unsure if I would like it in a fully released game since it gives an advantage to removing music, but it got a chuckle out of me that I could get an extra bullet if I didn't mind silence.

Normal enemies are one shot, unfortunately they seem to have some hitbox issues, something I would like to fix in future updates. Don't worry, your aim is perfectly fine! Still, I'm glad you had fun, and found some novelty in the different ways you could alter your experience.

I really like the aesthetics; it reminds me a lot of Ultrakill. As challenging as it is addictive. Great work! Congratulations.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I didn't intend to make it so similar to Ultrakill, but once I'd finished, I also noticed the similarities lol

This is such a cool project. Sacrificing hearing for one extra shot is a real fun choice that you can make. Having different features turn on and off as you play is super clever. Well done!

Thanks for the kind comment!

I really like this concept! Maybe needs to be a bit more forgiving as far as gem spawns during the boss fight, but having to quick menu to reload and swap between moving and shooting is a fun gameplay loop. Like the aesthetic as well.

Almost feels FTL-esque with managing a certain amount of power and needing to make concessions for what is really needed in that moment.

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it, even if the boss might've been a bit tough haha

Everything needing the same resource is an amazing concept

Gotta farm all this rocks and shot all them up!

Cool concept of the abilities that utilizes limited resource! Also shooter part of the game is cool. One of my favorite games there.

Duude you got more than FIVE ROCKS!?? (it's reference to my game) Rocks are the best!
