I'm not even sure if this is allowed, friend recommended this forum.
The problem:
I have some ideas, I just think they're generally bad, missing depth or not interesting enough to market. I know artists get flooded by idea guys. Doing the opposite. I'm looking for an artist/founder/partner with good ideas.
About me:
Lots of free time recently. I've been messing around with Pygame, Love2D, RenPy and Unreal. I think I prefer code first even if I have to do low level stuff. Gives me more control. Anyway been jumping back and forth between prototypes mostly due to Blender giving me existential dread. Keep ending up with working game logic and nothing on top of it except MSpaint doodles lol. I've built some tools too including a level editor that has some cool functions for roguelike procedural generation and a working sandbox for a 2D top down or 2D iso view game. Was thinking to release them and just make tools, but here's to trying to actually make a game.
To sum it up: Beginner in game dev, not a beginner in programming. My background is data analysis, but I am semi-retired, early 30s.
Other things I like to believe I'm good at: market/niche validation, creative sales & distribution distribution strategies.
Contract based rev share only, already got an LLC if you don't. Or we can set up a new one, whatever.
Games I like: Disco Elysium, FTL, Hollow Knight, Papers Please, Project Zomboid, The Tenants.
I prefer darker aesthetics, but I don't mind super cutesy/cozy. I'll probably be almost useless for world-building or writing for the latter option. Art style I guess pixel art, cell shaded, anime, realistic and stylized, hand drawn or painted are all cool.
If you've got any cool concepts you wanted to make feel free to reach out and Happy New Year.
