The game's simple mechanics make it quite fun. The only thing missing, as others have mentioned, is feedback, for example, when you take damage. I've also encountered a few bugs, like arrows being fired from another room passing through walls. But overall, it's a very good game and the art is excellent!
another game that sucked me in more than i expected, i had alot of fun with it! my main complaints are that theres next to no sound effects and that i wish enemies had like hp bars or something so i know how much damage im doing. other than those 2 things this game is really great! love the art and the music. fire mask was my favorite but they were all fun to play around with!
Good job on the game! The random dungeon is really cool, and I think the different types of masks look good. I think that more time focusing on how the gameplay. Having screen shake, particles, sfx, though they seem small, add SO much to a game like this. The random dungeon generator is really impressive, but for a game jam game, most people are only going to play your game for a couple minutes, to at most when they die the first time. I feel like if there were only like 2-3 dungeons, but the gameplay/polish felt AMAZING, then it would make the game more enjoyable, and maybe even indirectly increase replayability. I also think the shot cooldowns are too long. It's a lot more fun to shoot a ton of low damage projectiles with nice effects than one, more high damage one every few seconds. I did really like the variety of the enemies and bosses! The second boss was actually pretty cool, though I think all bosses would've benefited with more polish and attacks with them. Anyways, this was still a super cool game! Good job to you two! :D
The fundamentals are there, but without some interesting twist that makes it unique it's not that satisfying to play. Things like hit detection and movement are fine already, but without feedback like hitstop and SFX, the combat (the most important part of the game) feels disconnected and boring. Your character has a nice movepool to choose from, but it was also difficult to tell whether some attacks were even effective. I'm not sure if anything took damage from the jack o'lantern's RMB attack.
The theme fits only marginally for what is essentially switching between weapons, but I did notice that the spritework of the character and their masks were given extra attention.
Despite the fact that the game lacks visuals, it's a cool game!
