That was really fun to play! Nice job!

Super fun! I think my only issue is I never quite found a good tactic to get the shy ones reliably. One of your other responses saying the the blackout aliens move 2x speed for the rest of the round helped me with those. I enjoyed looking for the subtle differences and as the infiltration bar got closer to end, I could definitely feel the tension rising!

Also, I feel like Captain Picard was looking at me disapprovingly each time I killed an alien for the sole reason of them being an alien haha

While play testing I found that you should hover your mouse over a person, if they stop quickly move your mouse somewhere else so that they're not in range then move it back on them and see if you can catch them stop. Do this a two or three times to make sure. Also I just found myself finding them while just moving and I see someone stop as I get near them even when I wasn't paying much attention to that

Also, they are slightly faster than the normal speed but i don't think it's noticeable unless you have something to compare it against and the shy is just in the zone where you can see it but not make it stop

Thanks for playing and the feedback!

Thanks for the tips! I'll go back and see if I can improve my score some more!

It is a good game! Pretty fun. It was a bit hard. I wish it had a leaderboard.

I only got the idea of adding a leaderboard / speedrun timer after the submissions closed so I'll look into it after the voting period. Thanks for the feedback!

I like this one! It had some cool potential. I would have loved to have a reopenable manual because I did not remember what made them not human, so I had to figure it out.

Good suggestion, will get on it after the voting period. Glad you liked it!

I also struggled with the Blackout aliens, there were pretty much always multiple people on screen so it was impossible for me to tell which one was causing the flashing. if there’s a trick to it, I haven’t figured it out.

but besides that, this is one of my favourite entries in the jam. there’s a lot of potential if you wanted to add to it, but at the same time it feels like a fun finished game with a good amount of challenge and interesting ideas. nice work :-)

When hovered on, they'll turn off your flashlight for 1 second and their speed nearly doubles for the rest of the game and after 5 seconds pass they are able to reuse their ability again. So just keep an eye out for any aliens that are much faster than the rest

Thank you for the feedback!

Well done on getting this over the line in 18 hours - very impressive! I like the concept a lot - it's a clever idea with lots of potential, and you executed it pretty well here.

The red dots on some of them read as gun laser sights at first - took me a while to realise they were meant to be eyes. I also wondered what the point of having such obvious aliens (glowing skin and red eyes) but came to realise it can be a good strategy to keep them alive and eliminate them later when you need to lower the invasion meter.

I found very few aliens via the flashing light or freezing - possibly too subtle with so many people on screen at once. There were usually several in the light when it went off (though it was then fun to see if I could catch who was running away), while the humans are stopping and starting all the time so not easy to see who's freezing and who's simply stopping.

Weird shadows and off-colour skin were the sweet spots - not too obvious and not too difficult. Could be more fun to just work with that sort of thing... subtle visual differences that are easy to miss when you're not looking for them, but super clear when you are.

Thanks alot for the feedback. I do agree that it's a bit difficult to catch the Blackout or Shy aliens and I do plan to improve everything mentioned soon. Glad you enjoyed it
