Hallo!

Hi there! The positive thing is that the gameplay felt smooth and almost everything was interactive. The sparks falling from the ceiling near the mirror created a really nice effect—same goes for opening the door and walking straight toward the mirror in the red room.

On the negative side, the game is very dark (I’d suggest adding a flashlight). Also, if you stare at a spot near a wall or an object for a few seconds, the screen darkens even further. I think that’s an Unreal Engine thing since I’ve seen it in other games too. Otherwise, it’s a solid foundation for a horror game. Definitely keep at it!

If you continue the project and have updates, just let us know! ;)

hi! thank you for the feedback!

i dont know why i didnt think to add a flashlight but that will definitely help with the darkness. I really wanted the atmosphere to be gloomy but my lack of knowledge in setting the lighting really didnt help. I also noticed that if you stare at a spot for too long the screen turns darker. I had a guest lecturer mention it’s possible to get rid of it in the settings but I’ll have to mess with the settings more to figure out how to do that.

I don’t think I’ll make this level into a full game (although I do have a game design document for it) but if my classes ask me to keep expanding the level or I am learning something completely different that I can apply here (for example 3D modeling character models) then I will update it!

Thank you again for the feedback!
