big improvements overall, but i think the scaffold parts just aren't a good fit for the characters' movement as his "walk"speed would put doomguy to shame. the part inside the lab feels way more natural to the characters' movement as every platform is big af which is a shame because i think most people will encounter scaffolds before the lab which will probably leave a bad impression to new players.
because the regular movespeed is so high i find myself walking into the frankensteins before i can bop them with my tiny bat.
the loop-de-loop blocks my view of the player character which caused me to run off the edge a couple of times. oh and the player-camera doesn't seem to like being blasted off by the canons very much, but i'm sure you're working on it.
feels pretty fun to move around in the castle level! I tried to go to the other levels but i didnt appear to actually spawn in or have control of a character. ended up finding 6 of the stars. didnt have a controller handy so played on KB+M
i like the braking, but it feels a bit strange that you can still turn around on a dime if you sideways and then backwards to do a hairpin turn
if i dash up a quarter pipe and start wallrunning, but stop holding dash, then i appear to get stuck in a wallsliding state that i can only exit by walljumping
the cannon only didnt kill me 1 out of 3 times i tried to use it. 1 time i ground pounded mid shot though so thats probably my fault
exploring the big world and going "oh shit, i can get up there?" was really neat
all the platforming in the lava section was fun and having ramps to dash up is neat
running along walls after dashing up a quarter pipe going sideways feels really strange to control since my momentum no longer aligns with any cardinal directions with respect to the camera. felt like it was mostly luck to actually go where i wanted to
i dont see what the point of the crouch jump is or the crouch dash
walljumping felt a little stiff in my opinion
its pretty fun! cool that there is multiplayer too, but there was no one online when i joined. keep up the good work!
i got stuck between a seesaw and a wall and got teleported back to spawn, did i discover a pedro spot and gain infinite downward speed and warp to the death barrier or is there just some kind of getting stuck prevention
You probably mashed buttons when you were stuck and pressed D-pad up which teleports you back to spawn as a debug feature. Thanks for playing! I hope you had fun with it other than the glitch.
Things are feeling a lot more tight than previous demos I've played; mid-air control feels more deliberate, as does the control scheme. Excited to try multiplayer again with the bros here soon
There's a lot of small nitpicky things I had issue with but I think they'll go away with more polish. The fundamental platforming controls are really good though. Mainly needs a quick "center the camera behind the player" button but I didn't put much time into it. Treasure Trove Cove is the best level.
