black screen with music on firefox, seemed to work fine on chrome
widget is mis-spelled as widgit in the tutorial
i really like that hovering the roll button makes the dice clank together, very cool touch
i have never played craps
i think i broke the tutorial? im at the "hover over the special chip, roll again to use it" part. I ignored the directions and clicked the chip. now i have rolled several non point making numbers and every time an animation of the chip moving to the die is played but nothing happens
I immediately accidentally sold my other 2 special chips. oops
game speed option is much appreciated
i kind of wish i could hover over the bets like i can in help mode to get the tooltips while still being able to bet/roll
i really appreciate the colord numbers to simplify what you are betting on
i started to get the hang of it after winning 3 levels. i couldnt really keep track of the other table people modifying the rolls and shit, i ended up betting pass line with the snowball and ETF investor special chip. it was dumb fun and i like the juice on winning.
the heat vignette effect is kind of obnoxious
i wish your chip stack was only as tall as how many of those chips you could put down, it made placing bets awkward
ive never played balatro but i see the inspiration
good stuff, now i know a little bit about how craps works! my brother forced me to play it one time and i had no idea what happened except that it turned my $5 into $20 and i had no idea why, which scared me. keep up the good work.
Thanks a lot for playing! Sorry about the tutorial chip, I'm not sure what could cause that...
>the heat vignette effect is kind of obnoxious I'll tone it down some, I increased how much heat you get without taking this into account
>now i know a little bit about how craps works! I'm super glad you could learn a bit, that's been a major problem in previous builds. Glad all the stuff like the roll indicator numbers help!
Thanks again for trying the demo out, I really appreciate it!
everything feels very nice and smooth I have never played craps before only ever roulette. I completed the tutorial and was able to get a vague idea what was going on and beat the first 4 levels I think. I Like all the achievements I was getting and it would probably be fun if there was cosmetic meta progression that let me change the background or put up Christmas lights around the board with the money I win. I think that there should be more of a visual difference between the parts of the board that I can place chips on and the purely informational parts of the board. I think this is a good game I was getting pretty into it even though I never played craps or gambled much.
also web version would not work when I tried to play, desktop version worked good
I think the tutorial special chip might have bugged at one point. I had to manually reroll until i got a 6 to progress. The mouse cursor color needs to stand out more from the background if you want people to follow your tips and directions The general mechanics keep filtering me, I'm an absolute brainlet, but i kept betting until i lost everything to a 7. I fucking hate the side NPCs, but considering that they are supposed to be maluses i guess they are working as intended i particularly despise the ones that reroll your dice from you, dice games already by default feel a lot like you are not really in control, if the enemy can just reroll your dice even when you win then it truly feels completely rigged to me
The NPC's are meant to be a balancing factor on the player, but in your recording it seems you got a lot of difficult NPC's waayy before you had a chance to establish a build. For instance, the Cowboy (meant to be a late game boss type) shouldn't have spawned at that heat level. That's my bad and I'll look into addressing the bug.
You are correct in that they are supposed to be a negative for the player. Craps has a very "fragile" balance, so once the player starts increasing a certain bets payout, or decreasing the chance of a 7, they can start feeling very safe, which is what the NPC's are meant to offset. But I do see how re-rolling is frustrating, especially when you have nothing to combat it. I think I'll add some stickers and special chips to give players control over that, which could help with that feeling.
Thanks for playing, and the recording + critique, it's very helpful!
The cover art is pretty nice. The web version is a little slow. I think the additions are good, but it's overall still the same game. The title might be a little cursed due to the 67 meme. I do like the better tutorial and the rollapedia. Good job.
when you say slow do you mean performance wise, or just the game speed? There is a setting to speed up the latter, the top setting should be almost instant animations.
but thanks so much for trying the demo, I really appreciate it! I’ve kind of accepted the title issue, much much I can do about it at this point.

What browser is this for? I tried chrome and edge and it just freezes when I try to enter the tutorial
Apologies, there seems to be an issue with the web version with the steam integration... I'm working on a fix now, the download should work.
Web version should be fixed, please let me know if you encounter any more issues!

Hey thanks for trying it out!

The web version takes a while to boot before the browser gives errors saying it's too slow. It's an HTML only problem.
