The game gave me that Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers vibes. I like it. Camera movement is a little bit jittery though
Game fits the theme really well and is pretty COOL lol. I enjoyed some of the platforming aspects, although there's nothing really too groundbreaking, but there doesn't need to be. It's a platformer. There's no shame in following the formula for what makes a platformer a good balance between difficult and fun. I do wish there were enemies and not just spikes and hazards though. It needs some enemies that are mobile and better wall jumping and it would be perfect.
I also didn't feel like the "ice" or "storm" was much of a threat. this could just need to be communicated to the player, or maybe add in like a damaging aspect to it.
I’ve already re-tuned the wall jumping, and I’ll post the update as soon as the jam is over. Enemies are also in the works for future versions... I kept things simple for this jam so I wouldn’t feature-creep my way into an unfinished game.
Very fun! Beautiful design and game has very good adhesion to the overall theme
Fun game!
I liked the feature for saving at campfire and having to press Next level before you could proceed to the next level past that wall object. The wall jumping seemed a little bit impossible to get big coins and start wall jumping . I was jumping around looking for an invisible box like Mario that would help . I like the amount of work you put into this project in the time limit!!.
You’re absolutely right about the wall jumping. I actually already have a tuning system built for it, but I didn’t quite get it dialed in before the deadline, which made reaching some of the larger coins more difficult than intended. That’s 100% on me.
I’m planning a follow-up release with a lot more polish, and wall-jump feel and accessibility are high on that list. Thanks again for the encouragement
