Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
In making this game we wanted to really capture the feeling of a crush—warm, hopeful, and just a little frantic. To do this, we created a hand-drawn vertical platformer that incorporated a host of silly movement abilities to help our adorable protagonist reach a little higher and realize his romantic daydreaming.

We interpreted the theme as a sort of reaching out for connection. Mr. Slime's motivation from the beginning was to spend time with his crush, and even the simple act of arriving to his date on time and giving her flowers was, to him, important enough to brave any danger that came his way.
