Development Workflow Description
I'm retro and so are the games I make. I'm obsessed with pixel art. To design this art i'm using Pixsquare, Pixaki, and Resprite on iPad.
Using Apple Pencil combined with an intuitive interface is lovely - however, none of these apps allows to me to edit PNGs directly in place (in the Xogot project folder). Exporting and reimporting is cumbersome and that's why I often found myself falling back to Asesprite on Mac where I can quickly make an update to a texture, switch back to Godot and see the change in action.

Coding was done about 75% using Xogot (most in iPad, some on Mac, I'm also running it on my M1 MacBook Air). I've expressed this before: A Xogot for Mac with a better UI than the original Godot would be nice.
On the go (car, train, boat) I found myself carrying only the iPad and was able to work on my game - that's awesome.

For code related questions about Gdscript I rely mostly on ChatGPT 5.2 . I love that it syncs across devices so I always have my ideas with me.

Anything that involves precise placement of elements was done in Godot. Things like crating a collision polygon and adding/setting points that works much better using a mouse.

To add new scenes or instantiate existing ones I also find myself using Godot on desktop. I might just not be fully used to Xogot's UI but creating folders, dragging files around etc is super fast using a combination of mouse plus keybaord shortcuts - it's muscle memory. On iPad it takes too many long presses and finding the right icons.

One of the best things about Xogot on iPad for me is that I can work and play my game on my main target device. I design for iPad/iPhone and running my game there right out of the editor is cool.

The web export of the game was done using Godot for desktop. Xogot unfortunately failed me with an error about missing templates. I'm happy to do the export again once this is fixed. Note: I'm. using XogotBeta.

UPDATE: Using the non-beta version of Xogot allowed me to export to web.

If you don't consider the game for the Game Jam but still enjoy it, I'm happily contributing it to the Xogot Community and willing to add some documentation around it. Maybe it can serve as a startr project for other.

Thanks and happy new year! René

Beautiful game and tons of fun! The little animations with the boat remind me of stardew valley. It'd be cool if  I could trade in points for upgrades or something.

Brilliant presentation and gameplay experience. I want to keep coming back for more! Everything felt very intuitive, and once I worked out that you couldn’t just zoom around everywhere straight away, it naturally forced me to become more methodical and head towards groups of multiple shrimp.

Sprites are really cutes, and the music fit really well the title screen!

I like the mechanism of movement and the  way the game become harder the longer you survive. Great submission!
