Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
We chose to interpret the theme image as characters reaching for a connection of some kind. With this in mind we explored the connection an explorer/player can find when uncovering ruins and seeking answers. That “connection” between the explorer and a civilisation long lost to time was the main direction we settled on, with the secondary idea being a “connection” between two worlds via the rift mechanic and visuals.

As a heads up while we couldn’t implement all the art in the final build, I’ve made a compilation of all the concept and 2D stuff (minus Barna's amazing character designs) on Artstation! Check it out if you wanna see more of the cool sparkly visuals <3

also encountered the pit death infinite falling loop, but the visuals are great and rift mechanics are fun and challenging.

An incredible display of art and creative mechanics, I really love the setting and the mechanics it uses make the game very original

A neat little mechanic demonstration! I feel like there is definitely room to take this sort of mechanic further! Very cool

The concept of rift mechanics is very intriguing, interesting and unique. I do wish that the tutorial of the mechanic was a bit easier, as I ended up in a constant death loop at the start lol and found the explanation of what it does to be a bit lacking. Other than that the graphics are nice and the game is good!

I like the concept of the mechanics a lot, it feels good to try to balance where you're holding the rifts and movement at the same time. Wish there was more :D Great job.

Loved the unique mechanic of opening the rift to change the map and reveal secrets. Unfortunately got soft locked when I fell down the pit on the second level and had to restart the game to fix. Otherwise it was pretty cool and looked pretty great :)
