Game description
Helios Protocol is a top-down arcade roguelike shooter developed in Unity.
You control an experimental hover tank and must survive increasingly difficult waves of alien units while choosing power-ups and evolving your build each round.
This demo features the core combat loop, enemy variations, wave progression and a selection of upgrades.
Theme interpretation
The theme “Wave” is represented in multiple layers of the game:
• The core structure is built around enemy waves that escalate in size, difficulty and composition.
• Alien forces arrive through dimensional portals in rhythmic attack waves, reinforcing the idea of cyclical pressure.
• Many combat mechanics are influenced by wave-like behavior, such as chained explosions, circular area effects and enemy flow patterns.
The entire gameplay loop revolves around resisting, adapting to and overcoming continuous waves of threats.

Congratulations on your excellent work!
Beautiful graphics and well-thought-out gameplay.
The upgrade system was awesome, and the graphics were really cool. I also loved the boss music; it gave the battle a really epic feel. Top game, bro.
Awesome game!
The web build was stuck so I had to download it, but no regrets there.
Quite smooth experience, cool graphics, music on point, and the gameplay wasvery nice.
Would be cool to maybe be able to change the camera angle, sometimes I found it a bit hard to read. Also the edge of the map being invisible walls was a bit weird. Collecting stuff on the map felt a bit hard as well, the collision seemed a bit small. But that's more details.
Overall I had a lot of fun, and that destroyer didn't have a chance with all the upgrades I had.
Excellent entry!
For me, the game is stuck on loading so I couldn't rate it.
Hi! Thanks for the comment and for trying the game.
If the web version gets stuck on loading, I recommend checking the downloadable version at the end of the page — it’s very fast to download and tends to work much more reliably. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you get a chance to play it!
Nice Graphics! I love the Upgrade System!!
It'll be great if it shows the boundaries where the limit player can move.
Hi! Thanks so much, really glad you enjoyed it!
You’re 100% right about the boundaries — classic jam-time limitation 😅
I’ve already added a visual barrier in a newer build, but couldn’t update the Jam version because of the rules. Thanks a ton for the feedback!
Great core mechanics! The invisible wall that stops you from getting anywhere close to the edges of the map is a little hard to gauge because there is no visual cue for it. You just hit a wall that you can't pass while your enemies can move past it freely. Great start to the game though!
Hi! Thanks a lot for the kind words — I’m really happy you liked the core mechanics!
You’re totally right about the movement boundaries. Jam time was pretty tight, so that visual feedback didn’t make it into the submitted build. I’ve already added a visual barrier in a newer version, but I can’t update the Jam page itself due to the rules. Really appreciate the feedback, though — it’s spot on!
Stunning graphics!
Pretty addictive game to my point!
