Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
A core takeaway of the theme image for me was the concept of touching other people’s hearts by cheering them up at christmas time. Human connection through giving and generosity is one of the ways I can stay cheerful in these dark times we live in, especially around Christmas. I also wanted to showcase the beauty of creation, and how one’s craft can affect and touch others. This concept is shown through our main character’s baking skills, but reflects how I feel about my craft of game development, I hope that I can create something meaningful to people, and even if one person enjoyed playing, it makes it all worth while.

La interfaz dibujada trasmite una sensación familiar y cálida.
The concept behind this game feels incredibly warm.
Truly, nothing feels more like a hug than the act of creating connections. I really love how you interpreted the theme—it's such a beautiful, wholesome perspective.
On top of that, the art, voice acting, and overall polish are amazing. It was a joy to play!
Wow, that’s so nice!! I’m so glad it resonated with you. That’s such a great thing to hear, and I really appreciate it! Thanks for playing!!
Very delightful experience. Though I don’t usually enjoy incremental games, I do find this very charming and cozy (plus the ‘generate joy instead of money’ is a very nice twist on the Cookie-Cliker-esque games). The art, alongside sound design, makes clicking very enjoyable. One note I have is that the positioning of the canon can be confusing at first, but it is not hard to get used to. Also, the colonel is so cute ><.
thank you so much!! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I’m genuinely curious about why this game is so addictive! Could I ask if you had any special considerations during development? Or what was going through your mind when you were designing it—if you don’t mind sharing, that is! It’s honestly incredible; it’s by far the weirdly most addictive game I’ve played lately!
Thank you so much, that’s really awesome to hear! I initially came up with the idea while on a walk after a long day at work, the streets were lit up by Christmas lights and it made me so happy. We had previously made a clicker game in the past, and I came up with the idea of a new clicker game that you progress by making others happy and spreading holiday cheer rather than by just getting rich. I think it really just sums up what that special feeling around the holidays is which comes from generosity, kinship, and love. In terms of the addicting gameplay, I think the sfx and light activation feels rly nice, and that sense of progression is pretty tantalizing. I’m so glad you enjoyed the game!!
I think Owen put it perfectly. I also want to add that we really wanted to focus on player agency. We learned from our previous games that giving the player many options on things they could do and fun systems that the player feels directly contribute to the world. We also want the player to feel an incentive to explore the map. I also believe all the systems playing into each other came out really well in balance. Paroting Owen again, thank you so much for your nice comment!
I’ve been thinking about this point you mentioned for such a long time that I just couldn’t hold back and had to reach out to ask you about it again! I believe what you said strikes at the very core: granting players agency is, in a way, like "truly crafting a living set of rules". Take Minecraft or the game of Go as examples—they let players make choices that directly reshape the world they inhabit. It sounds easy in theory, but I haven’t yet figured out how to translate this concept into concrete, playable reality.
What strikes me about this game is that even though the controls seem incredibly simple on the surface, you’ve integrated player autonomy into the experience so seamlessly. If you’re willing, could you share what your team was thinking during development, and specifically how you grounded and implemented this kind of "autonomous, creative agency" within this game? Thank you so muchQWQ!
Of course! And you are hitting the nail right on the head that's exactly the thought process we had going into it.
I wish I could that is secret technique but unfortunately the best way to do improve this is just making more games. It helps to make games in the same genre too as you can directly see the improvements.
The core of what you are curious about is mostly likely our system that lights up the world. I think a big factor on why it feels very addictive and rewarding is the amount of different ways to interact with objects that are at their core very similar. For example someone eats a cookie by a tree it lights up, but if enough people from one house eat cookies and return home that house lights up. On the surface they seem very similar they accomplish the same end goal of producing hearts and being lit up. But I think the subtle differences in how they operate make it feel very alive and addictive.
I hope that clears it up and answers your questions :) thank you for being so interested in our game!!
Ah, that makes sense now! I’ll definitely experiment more with this in my future game projects. Thank you so much again, truly!!!!!
I think an example from Cookie County on giving players agency was the ability to destroy snowmen. I added this feature on a whim and wasn't sure if it seemed cruel to be able to destroy your little snowmen, but then I realized while watching playtesters play that it influences how they play because it forces them to avoid hitting them. I wish I could've added more features like this because it makes players feel like they are really affecting the world, even more than just turning on lights. Having a game world that reacts to player actions really drives home the sense that your choices as the player are meaningful and contribute to a more engaging experience. Hope this helps :D
Good graphics!
Good graphics and sounds! Nice Christmas vibes!
I like the idea of this clicker game ^^
interesting to launch cookie everywhere on the road XD
The most addictive game we played thus far in the jam. Kept playing even after we talked about stopping. It's really successful in that sense. The VO made us laugh and the sense of joy comes through clearly. One big thing is: I wish the SFX were less fatiguing. Also, we couldn't figure out how to control the cannon positioning around the perimeter. Overall, the game could use some polish, but the most important stuff is solid. The bones are strong! Great work!!
such lovely game, really enjoy lighting up the lights and the trees!! I did take a bit to notice the unlock neighborhood feature, might be related to my window size. Great job!!
Thank you for playing!!!!
A very interesting take on the incremental clicker genre, and while I don’t usually play them, this was quite an enjoyable and comfy experience. You have got a really cozy feel going on, and the voice acting, might I add, was smooth and charismatic. A bit cheeky, but in a good way ha ha.
I noticed an issue with not being able to manually swap the cookie that was being launched from the cannon. Also the pathfinding for the characters might need improvement since they kept getting stuck on the Christmas trees and other obstacles, and I had to free them by shooting them with the cannon.
A few suggestions and ideas from my end if you decide to keep working on this. The camera could move slightly faster and it might be nice if you pivot the cannon to the center and then let the player change its angle with just the mouse movement since that would be a lot more intuitive I believe. Decreasing the progression curve at the beginning might also help, since these games are all about giving small dopamine rushes to the player at frequent intervals to keep them hooked on the gameplay.
Well done with the game! My best wishes!
I'm glad you liked it!! Thanks for the detailed feedback, we really appreciate it!
Really fun (and highkey addicting) game! My only wish was that the camera could move a bit quicker
Thank you!!!! Ironically we discovered a bug where the camera moves so fast that u can exit the map at the end of the game 😭😭
Such a cute game! The artwork is adorable and the characters little 'yays' is so cute!!! 5/5 would blast cookies at people again.
I love how you twisted standard idle mechanics to give this a more community-oriented feel! Inspiring people to spread holiday cheer, which in turn increases your output, is a very thematic game loop. I'm glad you came up with something that is a lot cooler and fits better than buying an autoclicker in a shop. I will say, I don't quite understand having three different ovens with different cookies in each, it kinda negates the ability to use the cookies' different stats.
It's such a release of pressure! I wish I could light up all the Christmas trees.
.
I'm glad you had fun!!!! Thanks for playing!
I may not be a fan of these type of cookie launching angles, but the city lights turning on gives an absolute warm feeling. I cleared all the fogs and I think there was no more to the game. Well done.
Fun game. Loved the voice acting!
Thank you!!!
