Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
Orbit! is built on a principle: connection isn’t a story told through dialogue—it’s a mechanic you feel with your hands. Every movement creates a negotiation: I move = you feel force = our shared space changes. Cooperation isn’t a button press; it’s the ongoing physics of distance and gravity.
This philosophy comes from games like The Witness and Journey, where systems tell the story. There’s no exposition explaining what connection means. Instead, players discover it through play: the push when too close, the pull when too far, the moment you realize your actions directly affect another person’s experience.

This game is really cute. I really like the characters with the eyes showing how they feel and where they go! Also the music is very nice and fits the theme and art very well.

Some feedback for improvement:

  • To play together the characters are in my opinion too fast. It happens very fast that you loose each other and have to restart
  • As others mention to give them different goals would make it that little bit more interesting
  • Also the jittering of the characters at full speed for me personally destroys a little bit the feeling
  • Try to find another solution for boundaries than a hard wall. For example: Something like the camera goes no further and at a point, teleport to the other side

I really like the game mechanic, well thought. I think adding some visuals clue with the energy to collect would have helped better because when I started, I didn't recognize them at first glance

I'm really digging the concept of this game. The storytelling via the game mechanics is a great idea! Though, to nitpick a bit, I feel like the game can be less punishing when the connection is lost, constantly losing and having to restart everything can be frustrating T-T. Overall, great job!!!

Interesting mechanism! I was a bit confused about what exactly we should do but it started to make sense. Maybe we can make the lost of connection less punishing by allowing the players to re-form connection instead of instanly loss?

it's easier to play alone. Perhaps a mechanics can be put in place to make sure the two players have to do different things to complete a goal, like one ball attracts orbs and the other repells them, and the one can grab and throw orbs, other catches

Really helpful ideas! We considering to add something like black-hole/saturn to to improve the gameplay.
