Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
Creative Vision
This game was born from what I felt from the first glance of the theme visual: two fingers gently touching, carrying warmth that words cannot express.
I wanted to create an experience where interaction is not about speed, mastery, or challenge, but about hesitation, distance, and the courage to reach out.
The player does not walk freely through the world.
Instead, they stand still at a quiet intersection, surrounded by blurred passersby and endless rain.
The only thing they can move is their hand, their gaze, their intention.
By emphasizing touch, presence, and intention.
The goal was to leave players with a feeling that lingers softly, like warmth remaining in the palm after the rain has stopped.
Rationale
Many games ask players to move forward.
This game asks: what if you can’t?
The intersection, the silent traffic light, and the unchanging rain represent a moment in life where time feels stuck, when emotions pile up, yet nothing seems to move.
Flowers are given freely, but not always accepted.
Some wither away. Some disappear.
And yet, the act of giving continues.
Many people grow up learning how to give kindness to others, but struggle to offer the same kindness to themselves.
This project explores that contradiction.
The player slowly realizes that the most difficult flower to give is not to others, but to the self who has been waiting quietly all along.
The final realization, that the last person you reach is yourself, is not presented through explanation, but through recognition: shared objects, mirrored gestures, and silence.
I believe emotional understanding is strongest when it is discovered, rather than being told.
Theme Incorporation
The theme is embodied through touch and warmth.
When the cursor hovers over strangers, they fade away; connection was never meant to happen there.
When it meets someone who can receive a flower, they look back; eye contact becomes the first bridge.
When it reaches the adult self, nothing happens.
No button appears. No interaction is allowed.
The act of giving flowers becomes an act of shared warmth, a small transfer of feeling from one hand to another.
Only at the end, when the flower is finally accepted,
the rain quiets,
the world pauses,
and the player understands: The warmth they were trying to give others was something they needed themselves.
The final touch is not dramatic.
It is gentle, quiet, and lingering, like rain stopping without anyone noticing.
Only after the rain can warmth remain.
