“Cool game, but for me it’s definitely too hard. However, I really like the transitions between stages and the art style! The music kept me going, and it’s nice that there’s a bit of a grind element. The camera angle bothered me a bit at first, but after a few runs you get used to it :)

Developer

Thank you for your nice comment and for this feedback, I greatly appreciate it! Yes the game has an extremely high difficulty on purpose, especially with a camera angle that was made to be not conventional and not logical for readability on purpose either. I knew it was gonna stop/bother a lot of people, and I even know some people ended up rating full 1 due to this, but this is totally normal and expected. That's not a level of difficulty I would normally use in my games, as I like accessibility, but for this particular experience this is what I wanted for my story through design.

I'm really glad you liked some elements and ended up grinding through it a bit to try to reach the simpler times!

ABSOLUTE CINEMA (even though I suck at it it was fun enough to let me stay addicted long enough to it for me to beat it)

Developer

Wow you made it to the end, congratulations on reaching the simpler times! You say that you suck, but you're part of the few who actually made it to the end, so that's huge! Thank you so much for playing my game and for this nice comment :D

Thank you so much for this nice comment and for trying out my game!

this felt like crossy road and i SUCK at crossy road -- your game got me just as addicted xD. it's awesome! love the visuals, music fits the gameplay, and it's super fun!! awesome job!!

Developer

Aaaaaaw, your comment is so nice! Thank you so much :D I'm glad you had tons of fun with it! And don't worry about having a hard time with it, it sure was meant to be that way!

oh my god i love the song used during the running part

Developer(+1)

As the game is bloody hard, I really wanted a song that was catchy and motivating you to try and try again. so I'm glad it did have this effect for a lot of players!

In my opinion, this is one of the best implementations of the themes in this jam :>

Developer

Aaaaw thanks a lot for this nice comment and for trying out my game! I'm really glad you found the implementation original :)

The ability to buy more time and the cinematic intro was super cool! Sadly the game was too difficult for me, mostly because of the isometric view I think. But overall a nice game and a very unique way to integrate the theme.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your comment! Yes, the difficulty and the non-traditional view for 3D runners making it harder was by design, so it's totally understandable that it was really difficult. I'm glad you gave it a go still, thanks a lot :D

Great game, the cut scene is perfect but I don't know it happened to me when character turn 16 years old my controller become stiff like it is hard to control the player but overall great game.

Developer

That's actually because the gameplay changes when you reach this era: you get to an older era of gaming where movement wasn't direct in runners, but you were just changing lanes by pushing your direction button!
Thank you so much for playing my game and for this kind comment :D

Developer

Ah ah thank you so much, I'll make sure to mention you were the first one to mention it during the prize ceremony.

I run as fast as I can. But I need more time.

Developer

That's definitely the lesson of this game!

Submitted(+1)

I like the game even though I am really bad at it. I like the system of buying more time I thought that was cool. Also it's cool you have a intro cutscene too.

Developer(+1)

Oh thank you so much for trying out my game, considering the quality of yours! Don't worry about being bad at it, the game is super hard on purpose. I'm really glad you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

Great game! I don't know if it's only me but the game was kinda hard for me :(... But the designs and sfx and those stuff were great!!

Developer

Thank you so much for trying it out Tain! Don't worry about your skills, the game is incredibly hard on purpose, don't worry! It was made that way. I think maybe 1/5th of the testers may have actually reached the end.

I think its cool that you can make your next run easier with buying more time. But I think maybe you should get more time points based on how far you are since it would make getting far way more rewarding if the farther you are the more rewards you get.

Developer

Thank you for trying my game and for your comment! Giving more points based on the distance reached would have been a cool alternative as well, which could have worked with the design of the game, that's a great idea. Thank you for this suggestion!

This is a fun game! I like the replay ability with the time upgrade system and how it connects with the theme(: If I had to critique I would let the player start with more time because I found myself getting confused at the start of the game.

Developer

Thank you so much for your comment! Yeah I definitely understand your comment, I chose by design to throw the player in with only a few seconds so that they get confused and feel the unfairness of the situation, and try to build their way up against this frustration (or decide to give up, which is also a great choice). Thank you for this nice feedback!

I can't play it

Developer

The game is meant to be played in its downloadable file, I'd advise trying it this way if you can! If you're not on a Windows, tell me which platform you are on, and I'll make a build for you :)

I’m not good at this type of game at all, especially when it’s designed to be hard. However, I liked pretty much everything else (style, premise, etc.)—at least as much as I could experience in the short time before it became too frustrating for me.

Developer

Thank you for trying my game! Yeah it's definitely the absolute opposite of your game in terms of mood and difficulty, as the game is meant to create this frustration in the player. I definitely knew ahead of time a lot of people would give up really early, and that's totally ok and fair! Thank you for this nice comment and for trying it anyway :D

fun gameplay, fun lore, fun challenge

very awesome!!

Developer

Thank you so much for your kind comment and for playing my game!

Great connection to the theme and fun but challenging gameplay. The camera perspective did make it a bit tricky to tell if I was going to hit something, but usually there was room to stay well away just in case. Very well done, especially for a first jam!

Developer

Thank you so much for your cool review! I was pretty mean with the perspective that's for sure, but I tried to give enough space for every dodge, even though it requires a lot of spatial memory. Thank you for taking the challenge :D
