Creative Vision / Rationale / How Did You Incorporate the Theme
The theme made me think about contact and other people. One idea was to have character bringing souls to others, the main character and the narrative came from there.
As for the gameplay, I wanted to have some challenge but without our character being violent to fit the mood of the image. This is the origin of the gauntlets as I call them. These are challenging bullet hell/survival like moments where the main character must survive waves of enemies and turrets.

So far, my favorite game in the jam! Very well-balanced game mechanics, great animation, and awesome douns design. I would love to learn more about the story of this world and the little robot.  It would make a great full game!!

Developer

Thank you very much!

I guess it could be made into a full game of 3 - 4 hours yeah

I don't have the time or funds to do it but with a few changes it could be an interesting project for sure!

It's a nice game. The pace between puzzles and battles is well managed. The puzzles are fun and took me a few tries to solve; I'd love to see more. I can see you are trying to make a more "harmless" game by having no hitpoints and only dodging actions. I wish to see more challenging levels. Overall, this is a fine-made game!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! You're right, the intention is to have a game more focused on survival than pure fight.

What a fantastic map design! It seems to require a few attempts at the end, and I’m still trying my best but haven’t been able to clear the level yet TT.

Developer

Haha thanks! It gets harder by the end but I believe in you!

Love the puzzles, the camera movement, VFX

I'm glad you like it!

Loved the puzzles, and the action gameplay was JUST challenging enough for me to not wanna quit after dying a few times haha

Amazing visuals! They reminded me a lot of PS2 era games. I also appreciated the gameplay variety, being a mix of exploration, puzzles, and combat. I especially enjoyed the surprise chase sequence. Impressive work for a solo dev, nice job!

Developer(+1)

Haha I'm glad you liked the chase sequence!

First and foremost, kudos to you for making something like this by yourself. Your game feels good to play and there's something about the art style that gives it a very classic feel. Like this could easily be a greatest hit from the PS2 era. It fits the theme very well and it has a really good balance of exploration, puzzles, and dynamic enemies. I would definitely play a much longer version as this is something that I can see myself playing for hours. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! I didn't play much during the PS2 era but a lof of people share the same thoughts about the graphics. I guess that comes from the simple shapes I used.

You did find a great name, good for you! The visuals are stunning, and I too liked the music and the effects. Excellent game.

Developer

Haha yeah, what's funny is that I found this one right after our conversation and I liked it. Thanks for the feedback!

The music is perfect, I loved the challenges (The last ones took me a couple of tries) But I finally did manage to beat the game. I loved how there was a dash (I didn’t expect it). I also loved the world and the weird “dark clouds”. There was some I think good progression, some puzzles mixed with some gauntlets…

Overall, Amazing Game, I loved it.

Developer(+1)

Woah "perfect" thank you! I'm a very beginner with music composition, I was expecting such a word!

The 2 last gauntlets (especially the last) are quite hard. As they are short (around a minute) I added a bit of challenge. They should take 3 or 4 tries to get past them.

A third exploration level was planned to add another ability after the dash but it was cut because I was lacking time, but I'm glad I had time for the dash because it really adds something to the gameplay in gauntlets.

Woah, you made the music!? That’s awesome. I just checked them on soundcloud and I have added them to my likes. it would be cool if you put them on youtube music as well <3

Developer(+1)

Oh I didn't think about adding it to youtube but I guess I can, it would require a bit of video editing, should be done by the end of the week!
