Fun game! Got stuck on level 5 with that tricky jump to get the key, but the previous levels had a good time! Good graphics, but it was sometimes hard to keep straight which wall patterns/colors had which behaviors. Great job overall <3

Thank you!

It seems the issue with identifying the correct color is quite common. A lot of people are mentioning this problem. I thought it was obvious enough: “As white, you collide with white; as black, you collide with black.” I really have no idea how to fix this, though. :-(

Really good ambiant and graphic. I finished the game.
Some time there is some confusing situation about witch switch choose naturaly.

I only hated this part, blocking me in the switch wall and timing is hard without feeling rewarded when I succeed.

Developer

Thank you!

I assume the screenshot refers to the part where the player needs to jump from one black platform to another black platform above. When I was testing the game, I intuitively figured out that you could pass it by pressing jump and the color-switch button simultaneously, and then pressing the color-switch button again after reaching the top. So, to me, this section felt straightforward.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have the chance to conduct proper playtests to observe how others play and realize that this could be a point of confusion.

I love this ones level design and overall look. I think the character Edmund and the mansion'/manor setting are definitely the highlights of this game!

Thank you for your kind words!

I loved it! There was a jump I thought was too overly difficult but then I had an epiphany and realized I was just doing it wrong, a telltale sign of a good puzzle-platformer. It took me a little while to understand when was something was for which color but once I figured it out, everything fell in place. I also liked the shader for when something was both colors, very nice touch of polish to keep it pixelated. I barely have anything to critique, I would say some jumps felt janky because of how the physics interact with you changing colors while intersecting something that now collides with you, but I guess I'm just stretching to find something good to comment. Very nice game, good job!

Developer

Thank you!

I have an idea to buffer the color-switch input and only apply it when the player’s collider isn’t touching an obstacle. I’ll need to test this, though — I’m worried it might introduce some very unpleasant input lag. Also, I’ll probably need to add a separate, smaller collider specifically for this check.

Amazing levels with really thought out gotchas. Awesome game :)

Developer

Thanks!

I just hope I didn’t overdo it with this gotchas. I didn’t want the game to feel like IWBTG and provoke those “How was I supposed to know that?!” or “This game is just mocking me!” moments. My goal was for players, upon failing, to understand that they could have succeeded — they just needed to be more observant or execute their moves with more precision.

That was fun, i played it for quite a bit of time. I love puzzle platformers, and this was a lot of fun. Like what you did some  of the flowing effects too on the walls and floors.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

I’m glad you liked the effect! During development, I was really worried it might be too intrusive and annoying.

Fun! Had some trouble differentiating which collision corelated to which color mode, but that's probably a me issue. Very fun overall! Good job!

Developer

Thank you!

During development, I initially had a similar issue with telling which mode I was in. But then it just sort of went away on its own pretty quickly. I think it’s a matter of getting used to it.

Not usually a fan of platformers but this theme, and 1bit gfx requirements had me seriously considering it. This is so polished as a platformer, and a 1 bit game.

Developer

Thank you very much!
