It's a bit confusing, but very cool. I would recommend a different button for the crt toggle as F1 for me, opens a help tab. Otherwise, this editor makes a lot of the hard parts of drawing a ship easier. Such as drawing straight lines. I don't know why I can't do that... Jokes aside, great job!
Very interesting concept and a well-constructed customizer with so many different options!
The system itself was great, utilizing vertices and lines was a great idea for a customizer drawing board. It made the ship have a techy vibe, which I liked. The items themselves are great and I am glad to see so many of them.
One thing I want to point out is that some of the texts are a bit clustered on the screen---I think that making a tutorial system would be better than having the player read all the text.
Great job!
you can create real unique ships with this type of customization
I had a lot of fun messing with this ship creator. I would love to see where this goes, like how the choices affect the gameplay and seeing some kind of restriction/balancing to what is chosen and whatnot. Loved it.
I like spaceship creator games :D - nice to see a different take on it then my own.
-but seems it strugle with the same issues, of being difficult for the player to make the ship.
Could definitely easy be converted to a "asteroid" type game (because graphics style)
The art style was great, and I think this has a lot of potential for future development! I do wish there was a tutorial or something at the start, or a few example ships, as the UI was a bit hard to understand, and quite a lot to read. Really fun though! So many options for customisation! :)
This was soo good!
You made so much content and I really enjoyed it!
The only problem was that the UI was a bit difficult to understand.
Otherwise a super good customizer!
Thanks for the feedback, Ill make sure to tweak the ui after this rounds voting is done!
Nice, unique take on the theme, and the CRT is a cool effect, reminds me of old classic arcade games, interesting to see how this turns into a playable game. Well done.
It was fun to try to fly my monstrosity(missles are OP)!
The save/load options were a nice touch, the whole aesthetic was very retro and cool!
I recommend including a couple prefab designs to give people an idea of how their design choices matter besides trial-and-error.
Great work!
thanks for making a comment about balance, will make sure to account for that in future updates, also thanks for the suggestion once this round is over I will make sure to add a few sample ships!
A lot of things to read but surely is fun for the nerds. The art style is pretty cool as well.
Do check out my game as well btw if you have time!
I really like aesthetics of this game. Simple idea well executed with lots of customization. I hope we get to see more in the future.
Your ship builder is awesome! I loved how easy it was to customize everything. Having complete freedom to change the shape, size and colours is really cool and something I've not seen before. The weapon and upgrade nodes are a really nice addition and I totally stuck everything on mine. I like that there is a description for each thing and quite a diverse range of stuff to pick from too. If you continue this project in round 2, one minor thing that I'd love to see is the weapon selected change from the subtle brighter white to a distinct colour like green. Also worth mentioning is that I did have a small issue where full-screen mode didn't fit my display properly, but I was still able to scroll and see everything that way. I also liked that the CRT filter was optional (I turned mine off as I prefer crisper lines but it's nice to have the choice though). Being able to save a build was a nice touch and it was awesome to see a preview of the actual battle screen even though it wasn't required this round, it certainly shows the potential of the project
Thanks for the suggestion and pointing out a minor bug!
A bit tough to figure out, a lot to read. Would be good if you could choose some base model, for example, quickly and work from there
Thanks for the feedback, I'll make sure to add such a feature if/when I return to this project!
Wow really love the aesthetic! Would love to see more of this!
this has Lots of potential! would love to see where this goes, imagin the battles that can be created with this! i love the style! can't wait to see it in round 2!
I would appreciate it if you check mine out.
With a bit of UX tweaking this could've been such a good game. Going head first into this one was a bit of overload with so much going on from reading to trying to understand a completely unique mechanism. Visuals are well done and good call on disabling the CRT-effect.
Thank you for the feedback! I'll make sure to better tutorialize things when I develop this further
