Entertaining simple game. I like the merging concept, but I would suggest making the game harder, maybe make it like 2048 where the item will generate by their own. Currently the game might be a little easy.

I came across a bug where some of the tiles(?) or items are un-draggable and some are not placeable. I am on desktop FireFox  V147.0.2

This was a fun little game, simple and straightforward but charming. All the art was really cute (and not just because I saw a cameo of my kamioshi together with another of my oshis).

Unfortunately I ran into bugs with the selection of tasks. If I ever moved the mouse off the play area, the task in my hand would desync from the grid and can’t be returned to a square to interact with. This can happen to the music box, which softlocks the game. I don’t know how to reproduce it, but at some point in my runs I would be unable to move objects of a specific type, and that also softlocks the game once you hit a deadline with a higher tier.

I didn’t get that far cause of aforementioned bugs, but it seems like the primary strategy is click the music box as much as possible and you have enough time to not worry about matches, making things feel a bit too easy. I’m not entirely sure how you would handle improving difficulty game like this, maybe scale the difficulty a bit with a timer.

Edited: leaving what I originally wrote, but another comment did help me figure out the grid desync isn’t a softlock. I also didn’t hit the prior bug (I think it’s related to grid desyncing? but not sure how to replicate), so I did run into a natural game over. I don’t think a timer is my suggestion now (maybe a goal system might be better), but I do think maybe something else to change up the gameplay loop would be a good place to start if you were to expand the idea.

Good work on the game overall!

This game is honestly too easy, it is trivally easy to go infinite. Some difficulty scaling or a goal would be appreciated. I enjoyed it though, just reached a point where I figured I might as well stop playing.

Item merging on a timer? I see.

I liked the little icons for each item.

My best score was 92 but honestly I didn't enjoy much the gameplay.

I also played the game muted because it was extremely loud.

Some improvement suggestions:

- The game needs volume controls, especially if the default volume is at 100% which is way too loud.

- Sometimes when I completed a task it would only take one of the items in my inventory. It was a bit confusing.

I like all the spritework for the game, each item relating to Calli in some way.

I think it was an interesting idea to try to make fit into the jam theme, and making the game go until you fail 3 deadlines removes needing to worry about giving the player a reason to keep playing, which helps, but I think I would have preferred a goal, or just a general timer that would tick down and the goal would be to gain as much points as possible before time ran out.

But still, I think this is solid. Merge games have never really been my jam but it was fun to put some time into and appreciate the art, music, and SFX. good work from the team!

It's not bad as a just a minor timesink, but I think it quickly becomes more luck than anything else.

Frustrating at first but I got the hang of it.  I like that it requires a bit more planning/forethought, that you really have to start building later units for when the difficulty ramps up.

All in all an appropriately stressful game! Simple and easy to pick up, but still pretty engaging. I can see how it would be nice to have a little more variety either in ways to speed up the work or in some other way, but the result is that the experience is pretty polished! I'd appreciate a volume control, though!

It would be great if the jukebox automatically give out tasks so that the player could just focus on meeting the deadline.

Simple and fun game. I feel like some of the deadlines they give you require too much tho, and with them piling up in pairs and draining their timers both at the same time it can get impossible to fulfill some of them. If it always started with simpler deadlines, and as the match went on you could get something to speed up the work (example: the jukebox periodically activating by itself) it could be much more possible to tackle the tasks that ask you for several late-merges.

Nice work. It's a little bit difficult when rng is being cruel (I got two live-concerts in one task), but I think it neatly expresses the amount of work/time that goes into making these projects happen in reality.  When the task did seem possible however, there was a lot of frantic fun building up tasks while watching the timer go down. This game really makes you feel like Mori Calliope being a workaholic.

The only bug I was encountering was that icons would be completely detached from the grid when  clicking on tasks while they were in the middle of swapping places with other tasks. The icon was detached, but the task 'data' was still occupying a slot and could be dragged and matched, which wasn't an apparent problem at first until I cleaned up my grid and forgot what cell they were in xD. Given that others would likely also be mashing click and moving tasks around quickly, I can see this bug occurring pretty often. I hope you enjoyed making the game as much as I did playing it :D
