Pros:

The main menu was nice. The pop-up text was a cool feature. Drawing the body parts was possible with precision (depending on your skill level).

Cons:

The text sound was too loud. The background moved too fast.

Suggestions:

A template showing how to roughly draw it would be nice. After all, I didn't realize at first that the character was assembled. A color picker would also be helpful.

Overall, though, it's a really cool project that kept me occupied for 10 minutes because I wanted my character to look "relatively" good.

I can't believe it took me so long to play this entry. Absolutely amazing job. I'm really curious on how you made that typeface. Maybe it's some cleverly crafted markup? Either way, the text effect is incredible. 10/10, hope to see you in round 2

Developer

thank you so much for playing and sorry for the late reply! for the typeface, i'm not sure exactly what you mean, the font i used for most of the text is Barriecito by Omnibus-Type (https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Barriecito?categoryFilters=Feeling:%2FExpressi...), to make it move during the text animation, i used rich text with the tags [wave] and [shake] depending on the narrator's tone.  i hope this is what you meant lol, but if it isn't feel free to ask whatever you want to know :D
once again, thank you so much for giving my game a try and hope to see you on round 2 as well!

Cool project and nice narrative, this game brought me back memories of school.

Well done :)

thank you so much for playing! i'm glad you liked it and that it was able to invoke that sort of feeling, since i was also inspired by games i used to play when i was little!

I really loved this. I think you hit all the customizable marks.

I think something that would have helped would be to have it show the character as it's going, like having a little preview of what you're doing and generally how it's going to look while drawing.

Only partially related, I spent some good time drawing my little skeleton guy and then the game ended and I forgot to take a screen shot. :( So I would let the player have one more shot of their little guy while knowing it will be the last time,

Great concept and execution.

thanks a lot for playing! a preview was actually planned at the beginning, however i didn't really find a good way to implement it on time, so it ended up discarded. i'm also very sorry for making you lose your character D: should've definitely included some sort of text warning the game was about to end or saved the character image to a file before ending the game. if this game ever gets expanded, i'll make sure to tackle both of these points. thank you so much for the feedback!

I absolutely love the writing and how it's all presented. Actually this is very close to an earlier concept I had before I settled on my idea, our games are almost creepily similar, mostly seperated by the way we implemented "drawing", but we both certainly had some use of ImageTexture. Your game just got a more fun story (and more of it!).

I was gonna send the character I made, but I forgot to take a screenshot (facepalm), so here's a speed drawn version of it (I promise the real one was much better)

thanks a lot for playing! sorry the game does not really give much of a warning before ending, so it's a bit of my fault you maybe didn't have enough time to screenshot your character oof... still, really nice to hear from someone else who took the drawing route, and i'm really glad you liked the story! will also be checking your game out since now you've peaked my interest :D (also, i love the character!)

The writing is great, and I like how it puts together the parts you drew. I can imagine you expanding the game by having the player separately draw all face parts etc. Like "now, draw an eye" or "next, draw a nose". And then it would combine all those face parts together without asking you where the parts should go and what size.

Developer

thank you for playing! i really like the idea, and it would also allow for some cool animations (like having the eyes blink or something similar). i'm just not sure if having too draw too many body parts (each of the face parts individually aside from all the body parts) would maybe become too repetitive. but if i do expand this game, i will definitely consider it! thanks a lot for the feedback!!

LMAO with the thump meme sound in the "to be continued" screen, the text was a bit funny too
