I like how original this game is. And hey we made games with almost similar mechanics (making the player go down a corridor to tell an immersive story). The execution was a tiny bit wacky but I could tell this is well thought out after reading the about page.
I figured the execution was a little wacky, I have never made a game that is top-down before nor have I made a game this polished and in depth. I am new to coding and lost a lot of time to errors in code and lack of tutorials I could find for stuff so I had to just deal with some of the bugs(didn't help the debugger said I had something like 30 things that are either warnings or things I should probably fix). Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you liked the originality of it!
Interesting concept here, very original take on the theme. I would've never guessed what this is about had I not been told, but I think it made sense. Keep making stuff like this, it's a very immersive story telling format and I could've consumed more content given the opportunity. I think it could also use some graphical effects such as a dithered fade to replace non-full opacity elements. Great job with this :)
I was going to add other effects, but this is my first game I've made in a long while and the last time I made a game I didn't learn nearly anything used here. I was at a loss of time due to being in a different timezone than the jam was set in so I had lost a day. If I had more time I would have added more content and tried to make it more easy to tell what it is. Thank you for your kind words I'm glad you had fun!
I like what the story was trying to do but was having issues getting the text to pop up for each section consistently. Could not really digest the story cause only 2-3 text pop ups worked for me.
Yea, I noticed that issue, I did have to add a timer so the text wont load till the previous text has finished. If I had more time I would have put more effort into trying to fix it, but I needed time to figure out other things and make the rest of the game.
