Made a feedback / first-impression video for you.

Hope it helps!

Thank you so much! That was very helpful - I’ve made lots of notes! Also fun fact - you are the only person to have tried interacting with the sphere sensors. :)

hey i just played thisand left my feedback on the discord!

- Does the first person block pushing mechanic have legs (ie. Do you think it could form the basis of a game, or is it too clunky / obscuring)

I think it could work if expanded more vertically taking more advantage of it being 3D somehow. Besides it would be great to have it paired with some interesting narrative like portal, or thalos principle, it would be too abstract otherwise imo.

- Are elements clear where they are in the game world (ie positionally)?

Boxes blend a little bit atm, there is no clear separation between a boxes when they are touching each other and that makes it harder to read.

Maybe using a pyramid or some other figure instead of a box could avoid blocking the whole camera while pushing forward.

- Thoughts on the art style

It's a little too flat for my liking, color palette is nice though. I would recommend using different colors for the elevator and the goal orbs, I don't understand why they are paired by color.

Thank you - I have been considering the narrative element as I have been having similiar thoughts. Your idea on using a pyramid shape is inspired! It does seem like a neat way of resolving the issue for a lot of the puzzles. Thank you :D

Hello! Please find my feedback and a recording session below:

- Does the first person block pushing mechanic have legs (ie. Do you think it could form the basis of a game, or is it too clunky / obscuring)

- I don't think it's too clunky as a concept. The controller felt a little floaty but I think you're already aware of that and once that is fixed it wouldn't be an issue. But on the flip side I didn't find any of the puzzles too interesting either. Again, considering this was just a prototype you came up with in a few days that's to be expected, but my point is it would be a lot easier to comment on the viability of the idea once you try to do more interesting things with it. That said, I wasn't bored during the playtesting session either, so I think it has potential.

- Are elements clear where they are in the game world (ie positionally)?

- Yeah the elements are clear on where they are and what they are. The only thing that was a little confusing was the level where there was a bunch of blocks together. At one point I could push one of them but not others when it looked like they both had blocks behind them.

- Thoughts on the art style

- I liked it, gives me cell shaded vibes.

Thank you :) That is very helpful input :D

Feedback Desired

- Does the first person block pushing mechanic have legs (ie. Do you think it could form the basis of a game, or is it too clunky / obscuring): I think it is perfectly fine, but maybe you could add some "M" key input to see the map from above, to kinda plan our moves, first person doesn't let you "see" everything.

- Are elements clear where they are in the game world (ie positionally): Kinda of what I said above, it is "kinda" clear, but an overall camera would be nice.

- Thoughts on the art style: Loved it, I like those "borders", don't know the actual name of the effect.

Feedback that is not especially helpful

- Bugs: That "jump to enter puzzle" thing is reaaaaly annoying. Haven't found another one.

- Juice / User Feedback / Polish: All physics interactions, in my opinion, should make the player "feel" what your doing. Pushing stuff, reseting puzzle, the cube entering the ball, all that should be represented.

- UI: Not much to say here.

- Character controller: Fine, it felt kind of loose, but fine!

That's it, all the best to you and best of luck on your game!

Thank you very much for the feedback :D

Great idea and solid start!  I had fun solving the puzzles and this has a lot of potential.  I did get frustrated with the movement while jumping with the character controller and I could not tell the blocks apart in some scenarios.  Looking forward to seeing more!

Thank you for the feedback, I knew the character controller was an issue, but I hadn’t realised the blocks were not clear!

And thank you for the video it was very helpful. :)
