I really like the aesthetic of this game, kind of reminds me of A Hat in Time.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!  We were trying to go for something similar to Animal Crossing for the character models haha

The aesthetic and polish on this game is crazy, very impressed with how everything looks and feels for a jam game. The models were super cute. I enjoyed the game concept a lot too, time limit felt tight at first but the fast pace was better once I got the hang of it. I played once on web and it was a bit slow which didn’t help with me fumbling around to figure out everything. I tried once on desktop and it was definitely smoother which helped me do a lot better the second time.

My main critique is same as everyone else’s, the object snapping wasn’t always the most reliable which caused a few points of pain. The bananas in level 2 were also way too punishing, but I see that it was an accidental balance issue. I was also a bit confused with the tutorial at first; I do like the hands-on method, but I didn’t realize you could grab the paper, and the model view didn’t help me there cause I thought you could just place the banana there. Then because of that, I forgot about the model view and wasn’t sure how to place down the pebbles correctly for a bit. I can admit it’s a skill issue on my part, but might be worth looking into making that a bit more clear.

Honestly I think I would really like a more cozy mode without the timer too, even though that wouldn’t work with the jam’s theme, but maybe something to consider later? Either way, really great work, enjoyed this a lot!

Developer(+1)

Wow!  Thank you so much for the in-depth review.  All your critiques are totally right.  And a nice, chill mode would be a cool addition!

Banana.

For a simple game it requires quite a bit of fast action! Can't say much more that hasn't been said, I think my only main complaint would be the object snapping? I quite frequently didn't "attach" the item right because there I didn't click on the right spot on the 'glowing/highlight'.  Hard to gauge the 'middle' of an object especially on a time limit.

A nitpick but didn't really take away from the game. This was a fun entry! I'm motivated to keep trying and improving!

Developer

I really appreciate the feedback!  We definitely could have improved on the object placement if we had more time.  But I'm glad you enjoyed the game despite those issues :>

Shiori's little bobble as she runs around is way too cute. The vibes of this game are absolute peak. I really like how you guys implemented the tutorial. I never considered that as a way to introduce the game without a typical menu. I liked messing with the inventory. Like jingling keys.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!  And I'm glad you liked the tutorial!  We're not that great at UI, so we try to find a way to onboard the player in other ways haha

Really love all the models for this game, especially Shiori and Raden, excellent job!

And its nice to see Raden get some love in a game, never mind one that's so close to her personally, that's awesome!

I think most of everything I had to comment on has already been covered, but one thing that got me was that in the tutorial, it sounded like you would have more time to plot out the route Raden would take, but then it turns out that you can only see the next exhibit she's going to, which led me to panick and end up with the worst score on the first level, since there was no real time to prep or learn the exhibits, since you can't view the model for exhibits that aren't active. But after the first level there, you get the gist of exhibits for the most part, and its easier to come back out swinging in the next levels.

Can definitely feel the love in this game, with all the small touches in the flavor text, and the couple of exhibits that use voice clips from the girls.

Unique idea that is pretty well executed, great job from the team!

Thank you so much for playing!  We definitely could have made the onboarding sequence better!  I appreciate the feedback :>

This was a fun puzzle game, albeit at times a bit stressful.  In particular, every time it was the "Smith's Tools" or whatever it was where I had to replace the banana with the hammer.  The speed of that one combined with so many bananas and sometimes, getting unlucky and having to rummage through to find the hammer got me.

All the other puzzles though felt like there was enough time for me.  Even that other really quick one, with that statue where we had to replace the fan wasn't too bad just because it was only one item to replace it with.

In the end, I played through three times, with the third time being my best and managing to get everything perfectly.  Though, I was thankful that the order in which Raden went to each exhibit wasn't randomized.  If it were, it might have taken me a bit more tries to get it all perfectly.

That said, I was happy to see that a majority of the exhibits were randomized, to an extent, so it kept me on my toes with subsequent playthroughs.

This was definitely one of the games that made me feel the theme the most so far.  And the general feeling of the setting felt really great too. And then some of the voice clips caught me off guard but it was welcome hearing Fuwamoco's "Bau Bau" or Gigi just going "6 7".

If there was one other thing I want to make a comment though... maybe it's just me but I was stuck in the tutorial for a bit as I was initially confused on what to do.  Mainly because I didn't realize I could also grab the items on the display.  I just kept grabbing the banana and wondered what I was supposed to do with it at first.

... And now I want a banana.  I blame this game XD...

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing!  And thank you for the detailed feedback :>

The banana anvils on level 2 definitely needed to be nerfed hahaha.  And I also should have been more explicit with what to do on the tutorial statues like "Remove objects by clicking and dragging them."  This could solve so many potential cases where people would get stuck right at the beginning.

Super fun concept!!! Very pretty and clean looking, amazing artist work. The only thing that was a bit frustrating was how some sculptures had a very low solve time: it's fun to play the game, so i wouldn't force the players to stop so quickly!! Aside from that, super clean experience overall, very polished, amazing!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing!  Level 2 was actually way overtuned (it was meant to be a joke level until it turned into a real one) and we kinda' forgot to nerf the banana anvil LOL.  But yeah, educing the overall solve time by around 10-20% would have improved the game a ton.  I appreciate the feedback!

Very fun concept with a neat little story to set it up! The references to the team's past projects were a bit of a curveball, but I like how personal it makes the game feel. It feels like an homage to the community in addition to the talents.  There isn't much else I can say that hasn't already been said by others, except that I'm not sure how to feel that my most recent memories of Fauna have now been replaced with the 6-7 meme. Very epic!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing!  When I realized that the type of game we were making would require a decent number of 3D assets, we tried to be resourceful and reuse some of our previous VTuber-related models (the monkey is our own little guy) haha.  Our goal is to focus on the community when it comes to our games, so I'm happy you noticed :>

Shiori and Raden are so cute.  The physics objects would sometimes block the object but that is part of the fun.

Developer

Thank you for playing!  There is definitely some room for improvement regarding the size of the objects, so thank you for your feedback :>

Submitted(+1)

Amazing visuals
Trying to figure out the gameplay mechanic and clearing everything was fun

only 1 area of improvement just like some other comments would be making the area to put the items larger? or a better detection.
other than that a perfect execution to make a point and click puzzle game fun.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing!  I'm glad you had fun despite the bad hitboxes haha.

Jam Judge(+1)

This was very fun (and frustrating) to play!

Very cute character models and animations!

The polish is great! Lots of tiny details that make the experience satisfying and enjoyable. Great camera work and sfx.

I like the "future prediction" element that basically makes you race Raden to the next statue. XD

I felt the banana on an anvil puzzle time was too short. Finding the right item under a mountain of bananas took me a bit and by the time I'm dragging it to the right spot, time's up. Every other puzzle felt kinda fair and more skill issue on my side when I kept forgetting the right elements and had to take precious seconds to check the original picture multiple times.

I also kept failing some puzzles due to the hitboxes. Sometimes I would click or let go a few pixels off and fail to pick up or drop the part in place.

You also included some fun references like "6-7" and Dokibird! They took me by surprise! XD

Great work, team!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

Yeah the balance in the second level may have been too rough and some of the object hitboxes definitely need to be added differently.  Thank you for the feedback!

This was truly amazing. I had a really great time and I really loved the experience. I'm gonna gush for a bit:

  • All of the art is sooo cute and pretty and amazing. I was already looking forward to this entry after I saw the preview WIPs of the Shiori, Raden, and exhibit models, and seeing how they're implemented in game was so satisfying!
  • All of the little game juice bits improve the experience so much! The little sound bites that play whenever you interact with an object (Gigi's 6-7, Kiara's kikkeriki, the bau baus)-- they make the experience so enjoyable and endearing!
  • All the references... I see you 😌↕ (<-- that's me nodding in approval and understanding)
  • The ambience is well done! The lighting combined with the glitchy effects to some things in the environment as well as the creepy but not too creepy bgm-- mmm*chef's kiss*
  • The way you implemented how the credits are shown and the way you implemented the tutorial... damn it's genius!
  • And all I saw in the game were anomalies, no bugs!

My results: 6:25:27 time, 3 mistakes total, and a lot of fun :') Amazing work

Developer(+1)

Oh man, I'm really glad you enjoyed!  And I'm happy that there have been no major bugs so far :>

Thank you so much for playing!

Extremely fun, loved playing through it, rushing to fix the exhibits in time was really enjoyable!

The most professional looking game I've played in this jam! Incredible music, awesome art and screen effects, super cute models and smooth controls with fluid enjoyable scenes! Love the funny statues and soundbites that play sometimes! Also Shiori getting stuck in time at the start was so funny.

The only thing is that it took me a couple of attempts to realize that in order to make an object snap to the statue you need to hold it for a second at the highlighter area. When in a rush I let go of the button early and it felt like objects just wouldn't fit or something. Nevertheless this is an absolute masterpiece!

Developer

I'm really glad you enjoyed!  Yeah the hitboxes really sucked for some of the objects...  I appreciate the feedback :>

A cool concept and amazing visual execution, very impressive.

This is amazing, everything is visually stunning, the amount of polish is crazy for 2 weeks! Really clever to utilize objects scrambling around as the challenge for the player.

I do wish the object dropping hitbox is a little more lenient, especially since the placement is fixed anyway (or at least from what I observe. I dont think there was any instance where an object can be placed in more than 1 location).

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing!  Yeah... the hitboxes suck on some of the objects.  I realized only after the jam that I could have prepared the statues in a less complicated way where the hitboxes wouldn't be so jank.  Oh well, you live and learn haha.  Thank you for the feedback!

The models are really cute and the gameplay was fun! This was really cool!
