This is very challenging. But I think it's because I'm so used to one side having the directional keys and other side for the actions (Example: Arrow Keys to the Movements and ASD Keys for Actions) But once I reached 1000 and found Shiori (not only her noises a bit and jumpscared me) but basically didn't made a time to react since I always reach there at almost 20% of time gauge.

BUT I LIKED THE GAME REGARDLESS! And... I can't believe you guys are actually going to make me hear Daydream lmao! I liked the remix but it's kinda odd, like... is the loop bugged?

I managed to reach around 1500, I am pretty bad with those types of games. I quite often jump into the bullet when I could just stand and do nothing :D

I liked the aesthetics and Kronii sprite was really good. Also good choice for the BGM and good idea for taking Kronii gwak sounds from streams.

Cool idea with the boss fight as an intermediate step, mine was at 1000 so I assume that next will happens on 2000 or 5000.

I used pretty much all abilities, all of them had use cases so that's pretty good.

Thing that I would improve / change:

- I think that we could have some benefit from defeating enemies. Currently I think there is none? So there would be a viable strategy of ignoring the enemies and viable strategy of defeating all enemies along the way. At some point I started just going past the enemies and not fighting them at all.

- I was not sure what taking damage was causing, I think it reduced our time? It could be more visibly signaled on the time bar, for example by marking the lost time in red color and then gradually reducing the bar to the current value.

- I would either add an option to replace an ability when our slots are full or remove the ability from slot when it is used. I had multiple cases where I wanted to replace an ability with another one, but had to wait the duration of the ability to free a slot for a new one. Alternatively I had to use the abilities as soon as I got them but that was sub-optimal

I hope for a post-jam update with more enemies, more abilities and maybe more boss variants? (could be still Shiorin just with different sequences, environment etc.)

Fun game! I really liked the art, it's really cute. I was a bit lost with some powerups, but most of them were clear from the icons.

The BGM and sound effects are good too!

My only gripe was the lack of menu or at least a bit of starting area and some enemy variety would be cool if you want to update it after the jam.

For a 2 week jam, it's a really solid game!

I had fun, the art was good and the gameplay is a great start.  I liked selection of powerups, they were creative and very useful, and the periodic bossfight is a neat addition to a game like this.

Super solid game, good work!

I really liked the art, all the powerups had their own use and felt unique, and the boss fight to break up the running was a good idea (I ran out of time before 2000, does the fight happen every 1000 score?)

Echoing what some others have said, it would be awesome to see some more content added after the jam, but all in all great work!

Excellent concept and execution. I would absolutely love an expanded version of this game (more levels, more novelites/novelknights). Very cool!

Thanks for playing out our game!

Glad you had fun with the game. We really appreciate it!

The art is not bad and the gameplay is simple but effective. When I saw the screenshots, I thought this was an autorunner game, but it's more of an infinite mega man level. I do think if you went the Canabalt route, it would work really well with the gameplay and the art you have already. Besides that, I think the beginning area should be free of enemies because when I opened the game, I immediately lost time before I could figure out what I was supposed to do. Another issue I encountered is the shots from the enemies seemed very inconsistent. Sometimes it fired a slow shot that went in a line, sometimes it went 3x speed and tracked you so there was no way of dodging. I couldn't figure out how it fired. Boss fight was a fun way to break up the constant running.

Thanks for playing and sharing your thoughts!

We agree that the starting area should allow players time to learn without pressure, and the inconsistency in enemy projectiles is an issue we need to address to improve readability and fairness.

We’re glad the boss fight helped break up the pacing. Thanks again for taking the time to share all this!

The pixel art is nice and the gameplay is simple. There can be some improvements to have the controls feel tighter like allowing the player to control the jump height by holding down the jump button. The hp of the normal enemies can be reduced as well as it takes the momentum away if I have to stop to take them out.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

We’re happy you liked the art. Variable jump height and adjusting normal enemy HP are both great points. Really appreciate you taking the time to share your thought 🙌

Fun game!

I liked the pixel art!

The boss fight was short but it felt like a nice change of pace from the endless running. Nice music choices.

My best distance was 1823! My favorite powerup was the invisibility/invulnerability, followed by running speed booster. Popping the attack booster just before the boss fight was OP too. Hehe.

Some improvement suggestions:

- Powerup effects need to be explained. Some are easy to understand from the icon, but others I couldn't really understand what they did. A tooltip popping up with the effect description when hovering the mouse over the icon would help.

- Add a way to discard a powerup so that the next pickup goes into that slot.

- Adjust the jump height based on how long the player presses the button to make it feel more responsive.

- The Q/E boxes at the top center sometimes obscure the view when the player is on a tall platform. Maybe consider moving them to the left side of the screen, below the Distance indicator.

- Enemies should despawn when starting a new run. I got hit by an enemy standing just to the left to the start point a couple of times.

- I kept pressing space to jump and fell into endless pits a couple of times. (skill issue from my part) XD

Good job, team!

Thank you so much for playing our game!😆

We’re really happy to hear that you enjoyed the pixel art, music, and the boss fight as a change of pace from the endless running.

Your notes on power-up clarity, UI placement, movement feel, and enemy behavior are very helpful, and we truly appreciate how clearly you explained each point.

Thanks again for the detailed feedback!

Nice game, I could only beat Shiori twice before running out of time. Would be cool if there was more time bonuses so you could theoretically play forever.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing our game!

We originally wanted the game to be playable forever, but during our own tests (even after beating shiori) we still ran out of time 😅

More time bonuses is a really good suggestion, definitely something we’d look into.

I liked the game. I didn't understand what some upgrades do. Invisibility OP tho.

Developer

Thanks for playing our game!

Sorry that some power-ups don’t have clear descriptions yet, I can see how that can be confusing.

And yeah, invisibility can feel very strong

Really appreciate the feedback!

Decent sidescroller but I think hitboxes should be a bit smaller for player and enemies because sometimes they spawn on top of a very small sized platform making it unavoidable to be hit. I like the parallax effects and the Shiori boss fight! She is very cute looking in here <3

Developer

Thank you so much for giving us feedback, glad you like the parallax and the boss fight, Shiori is cute indeed hehe, thank you for playing our game
