Really fun and really challenging game! Loved the art style and SFX, and really like that slow down mechanic like superhot. I had a lot of run playing the druid and squashing enemies, though im yet to beat the game lol.
That slow effect is really cool! Unique set of upgrades and combinations. Ended up just dying a bunch to do a run with everything on wizard from the start and I just spammed shield fireball to the end. Really nice art style and aesthetic and the polish in the small animations and effects is some real eyecandy. Very strong entry and the first mac export I've tried that actually worked!
This game is so cool! I liked how I felt when playing it, it's kind of like a fantastical super hot only with different abilities which I enjoyed a lot.
I escaped as the druid on my second try :D Had a bit more trouble with the wizard and knight though.
Also the art and character designs are awesome! I was a fan of the music too, this felt like such a polished and well-made game. Really impressive and fun entry!
I had a lot of fun playing it! I like how you implemented a bullet hell with slow motion, it works really well. The part where the red bullet come from the left and the right is really satisfying to pass through.
It’s interesting that you took traditional classes and put your own spin on them. My favorite was the druid, truly unique.
This game shows great potential for a complete experience. Great submission, good job!
One of the best submissions I played so far. Pretty fresh mechanics with the twist of upgrading using another class. Also, the art is very nice. Great job!
First off the art is so nice, from the character designs to the map itself looks so crisp, very professional looking.
The game itself is pretty fun and it does a good job presenting the theme in the game play by carrying on the relics.
I had 1 issue where every now and then the game would hitch for a moment, not too sure why that was happening but it seemed like when I was loading in another part of the map. The perspective made dodging bullets a little weird but the hit boxes actually seemed pretty lenient so it didn't really cause too much of a problem.
I'm sometimes a leader board gremlin in these jams but I saw the top score and I thought better of it.
Thank you so much for playing an the feedback! Glad you had fun!
Sorry you had hitches sometimes we'll have to look into what the issue was.
We ran out of time so couldn't show it very well but there is a challenge mode that unlocks after you beat the game once, that'll add a huge score multiplier :D
An interesting concept with an amazing style.
Loved the game aesthetic and gameplay however i do find the auto-scrolling + perspective chosen to be a bit hard to handle at times especially considering the bullet-hell nature of the game.
Still enjoyed it quite a bit.
Really fun game to play! The characters models are colorful and fun, and the mechanics each one has are different and unique. Great use of catchy sounds and music, amazing work for this jam! :)
Great job! Beat the game and had a ton of fun! The challenge is real with this bullet hell. I noticed after I beat the game the first time it let me keep the items of the other characters. The mage is pretty difficult because there is not much protection. Loved the art and music. Wish the hit, kill, and reflect were more distinct and obvious. Had a blast! Thanks for making this game!
I am impressed.
I couldn’t finish the game, but that’s on me: if the game looks like an action game, I am gonna play it as an action game, even if the game clearly warns me this is a bad idea :-). But when I slowed down, I got a lot farther: this shows the difficulty is real, not just a bad controls or anything. ADDED: scratch that, I just finished, with the druid of all things.
You implemented the theme extremely well, including the wildcards, nothing feels forced. When I started the game, I thought “the difference in abilities are gonna be just cosmetic”, but nope, every hero plays very different.
The graphics were clear, though sometimes it wasn’t obvious where projectiles are exactly, but I feel like this is me, not being used to 3D bullet hells. Otherwise, the graphics had a consistent theme, was colorful without being garish and generally pleasant to look at.
The only thing I have an issue with was the sounds. The effects weren’t very clear, esp. with the druid, I didn’t know which sound meant “you smashed a projectile” or “you got hit”. It also didn’t fit that well, you have a PS1-like graphics with NES-like sounds.
Also, the music slowdown effect was a mistake IMO: I often stopped to look around or maneuver around a projectile, and the result was a grating, disharmonic mess. Maybe an “underwater” filter would fit better? Not sure.
It would be nice if the game would save the world on exit, so that I wouldn’t have to start with the knight every time. But given the length, this is not a big issue at all.
In total, I had a lot of fun and was very pleasantly surprised. Good job!
This was a very fun little game, getting used to each character's playstyle was a challenge but once I had a basic understanding, I had fun! I love the art style and I especially like the big burly monster towards the end, very fun designs and atmosphere overall!
enjoyed this! the art is lovely. the 3d models had lots of character. in terms of gameplay, i thought the druid was awesome, but with each class, i found i could just spam right click/lmb to win. the concept of escaping with a relic and keeping it on the next run is interesting design space!
We spent a lot of time conflicted about the difficulty. Too easy and, yeah, you can just spam your way through. Too hard and it just gets frustrating. There are several axes of design that we could configure, e.g. number of enemies, number of projectiles, enemy HP, your *own* HP, hit box sizes, etc.
In the end we settled on a normal difficulty to start, and adding a "challenge run" button after you beat the game.
Thanks for the feedback!
