Absolutely gorgeous submission, loved the music and it just felt really polished overall. I too had to force myself to stop playing :D At the start I completely missed that I had to display the items I bought and almost lost all my money but then I got it and I really had a lot of fun!

I had to force myself to stop. Incredibly well made one-more-day-week -game loop. Very clean, cozy and appropriate visual style. All the important things had audio.

I enjoyed bargaining, so the one thing I was left missing was to clearly see the difference between the starting and final price. A visual cue in addition to the audio cue for whether you won or lost the bargain, would’ve helped as well. But these are minor things.

Thanks for the game, I enjoyed it plenty!

Developer

Thank you!

Good idea about ability to see the result of bargaining. Maybe I can color the result amount to green or red hue based on the success. Maybe even use  different saturation of given color to also indicate how good/bad it was.

As far as for the visual indication during bargaining, there is already color indication, where the panel get briefly colored to red or green based on the result. But it might be too brief to actually notice so I might make it more visible.

What a nice relaxing game! I really enjoyed bargaining for items, then fixing them up to try and sell them for more. There's a good variety of systems and items to keep the game fresh for a long time.Graphics are spot on and music works well. I do wish there was more around the theme of repurposed. For example, dismantling objects to get other parts or objects from them rather than just money.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your nice feedback! :-)

In original concept, I was thinking about having unique types of spare parts for all categories that would be used for repairs. But as I was thinking about that system more and more, I thought that it would be little too overwhelming for a player. That is the reason why I decided to simplify it to $ at the end. But I absolutely agree, that some kind of spare-parts management (if made well and ballanced) might add another layer to the game mechanics. I will definitely think about it again in case I will continue work on this game after game jam.

It would be nice to see this developed further. Since there was no time pressure, even a more complex system would have been imho. Though my initial reaction was "can you guys stop coming in so I can sort through the junk I bought". Then I realized there's no pressure to attend to them and everything clicked into place.

Great relaxing game! I am a gambling person so I kept bargaining and often loss more money :p. Still fun none the less. Found a bug where if I have too many items I can still put them on display. This was for a clothing type and I was putting them on sale from storage.

Developer

I love the fact that you simply refused to do the math and made the bargaining a gamble. :-D

Thank you for the bug report - it might be connected to the increased storage capacity perk. If I decide to continue in development, I will definitely fix it.

This game is so relaxing!! I really had fun bargaining and upgrading my shop. I got the plants and the adorable little cat. I think I got all the upgrades actually?? This game had me hooked. Really nice atmosphere and pacing!! I honestly didnt even think of thrifted  or second-hand stuff for this jam, and that angle on the theme is genius. Big kudos to you and I really enjoyed playing Thrifted :D

Developer

Thank you! There is about 10 upgrades in total and if you have them all, you are simply not offered with more at the end of the week. It is great you have met Freddy the cat, not everyone were lucky to get him offered. :-)

This was a cozy little game. I played through day 21, and had just under $200 after rent. I favored the relaxing route, so didn't do any of the timed bargaining events. It was nice to see you implemented a save. The core game loop was easy to pick up and straightforward. With the estimated prices,  judging what to buy didn't take too much to decide. My first upgrade choice was plants or cat, with both offering the same benefit. Of course I had to choose the cat. The others gave me more choice in what path I wanted.

Overall, a nice, relaxing, jam game.

Thank you. I was thinking about the bargain mechanic and the fact that not everyone is a fan of the little stressful math. Maybe I could make it more optional by adding slight punishment for bargaining (less customers attraction if I make them pay more money or something simillar) to make it something for something.

Submitted(+1)

The game is fully playable without ever bargaining, so you could leave it as-is, and those who don't want to do it can skip it as I did. You could also come up with an alternative mini-game, and have a setting for which to use for bargaining.

Man that is one addictive game loop. I really liked the percentage vs flat amount mechanic and played for a while seeing all the unique items you added! If there is an end I didn't make it but it would be cool if there was some catalog of all the items you've bought and sold so you could go for completion. The music was very relaxing and didn't wear on me and the art style was very comfy. Wonderful entry! You've earned a fan!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback and for the follow!  The catalog is such a cool idea! I will surely add something like that if I decide to continue work on the game after jam.

Submitted

Not another game tricking me for a time longer than i would like to admit into enjoying math lol

Seriously tho, other than the little onboarding ramp up where im starting to understand (i did just spam click the right option for haggling the first few days...) the loop is really addictive

Unfortunately for my thrifting customers, both Freddy and my digi game are never for sale :)

Overall loved this game !

Developer

You know what they are saying: Admitment is the first step. :-D

Thank you for the feedback. Some form of tutorial will be definitely helpful for this game to make onboarding easier.

Submitted

This was a very cozy game. I loved the music.

I could not figure out how the haggle mechanic worked. Nor could I tell if I was ahead or behind financially.

This game has a lot of promise as a cozy game. I really encourage you to continue developing it.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

The goal of the haggling is to select price that is better for you. For example if you are selling item that costs $10 and you are presented with options "+3%" and "+$0.01", you want to select +3%, since it is more (3% from 10 is 0.03). When presented options are worth same, it doesn't matter what option you choose as both are considered to be succcessful.

As far as for the money management, I didn't really get to the ballancing part, so I am unsure if I set the prices "fair". For that reason I deccided to not punish you for not paying the rent in time. There is a mehcanic that allow you to postpone payment to next week (with some interest). And you can actually do it infinite times.

I collect all the given feedback and I am surely thinking about making it to some fully released game. So maybe. :-)

Wow, what a great game! The art style is beautiful and the music really adds to the cozy atmosphere. I had a lot of fun and played for quite a while.

Developer

Great to hear you have enjoyed it for a while! :-)

Thank you for kind words about art style. Regarding music, all credit belongs here: https://ende.app/cs/song/13376-ambient-acoustic-guitars-vol-9 I have just used it in the game, because my own guitar skills are limited. :-)

Submitted

Sweet, the cozy music and atmosphere was a lie. This game is stressful... and fun.

Developer

With the stress part, I assume you are talking about bargaining? - that can be little tense, yes. :-) Thank you for playing, I am glad you had fun!

Submitted

Wow, such a cool idea for the theme, really had a lot of fun with this, I wasnt sure how best to bargain and they always got mad and offered me less than their first offer so I guess I'm not very good at running a thrift store haha..

Developer

Thank you for playing! It can be hard to select correct option in time pressure, especially when you are presented with two options that differ only slightly, so don't feel bad about it. :-)

Submitted

I played for 57 days for some reason. Enjoyed the art style. Big thing that would be nice if added is to still have time when last customer leaves(or be notified that its the last one), so that if its rent day to sell scrap extra things from storage to save your hide. Cool game

Developer

Good idea - I agree it might be helpful in some form. I will keep it in mind for potential future projects. :-) Thank you!

Submitted

Fantastic game! A great concept with a great execution. I was really absorbed in your game, I kept playing just to see what next bonus I will get. And I love your art style, 10/10.

Also, I managed to make the bookshelf disappear by putting too many books on sale.

Developer(+1)

Wow, you have sticked to the day 47! I am so glad you liked it! :-) And congratulation on discovering a bug with an invisible bookshelf. :-D

Submitted

That was more fun than I expected :) I really liked the art, works well. Seems like quite a bit of work for the time period. Also the ui work is great.

If i would change anything it would be some key binds for certain actions since some of it is repetitive.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. :-) I absolutely agree with the key binds. Some shortcuts would be nice addition, unfortunatelly it was in the "nice to have" category and there was not enough time to get to it.

Submitted

Amazingly chill and calm game! On top of that very, very creative!

Developer

Thank you. I am glad you liked it.
