i loove the way you used the limitation! its very original, also the puzzles were very fun! although there's this one which i got softlocked most of the time and i had to reset
Fixed version doesn't have it, and thanks!
ooooh i see, okok im going to play it now!
Edit: i alredy played it and let me say, its peaaak!! i love all the puzzles, there were very engaging and fun!
I really loved the atmosphere you built here; it does an excellent job of giving a real sense of exploration. Combined very well with the awe-inspiring background ambiance audio. For something whole core was made in about a day and a half; this is an incredibly solid platformer. The sense of scale is especially impressive, from carefully lining up the 1 unit jumps in the beginning to suddenly flying across multiple screens when you gain height or fall from far above. I played this all the way through and was completely hooked. The power-ups are used really well in the level design, and the Vania elements felt meaningful, especially having to revisit areas with a more careful eye. Also, good job on making me completely forget that pretty much the only sprites were different types of cubes. Super impressive work.
About the sprite cubes, well i didn't notice this myself before that comment. Thanks!
This is a cool idea! I think you've leveraged the level design well to reflect the power-up and have it operate in new and interesting ways as the player explores the level. There is a little -vania flavour, in the sense that abilities open up accessibility of the world, and discovering you could just jump up all the way in the starting area was a nice discovery. The idea of having the cracked ceiling reveal more spikes, making subsequent attempts harder, was a very devious one! Check out Leap Year for a game that designs its entire experience around an ability like this that continues to use its level design in interesting and unexpected ways for the player. I liked the platforming and spike avoidance approach, but some feedback could be to figure out how to make this a little more precise - as the player is shooting into the air fast, it's hard to align a jump. Great work!
Thanks! I'm amazed that everyone posting here so big comments while i'm comment other games with something like "cool", damn it
Hey I used the word 'cool' too same same haha
I really like the level design and the vibe is really cool! the music goes along very well with it, tho i couldnt figure it out how to continue after you get the butt powerup and go back to the start to the part with the spikes above the right side
If you're talking about place with breakable blocks, thats a softlock i accidentally added it even i tryed to verify that game doesn't has any of it but if you're not talking about that place you just needed to search better;)
Nicely done! You've propably heard it a lot but really nice vibe you got here. Unfortunately I didn't complete the game because I got softlocked and lost all progress. Beside that GG
Wait where you softlocked and how? I checked almost everything
After getting exploding ass I and ending up in starting place I was looking where to vontinue, so I went up and then on the left while jumping destroyed some blocks with my new power, died and got stuvk :(
Oops I'll fix that tomorrow but just in case game can be done in 4 minutes so i don't think that this softlock is "Ridiculously overpowered"
Oh haha, I will try again then :)
Really beautiful music and atmosphere. Sometimes I wasn't able to tell if a tile if a darker shaded tile was part of the background or had a collision, but maybe that's just me looking for metroidvania secrets :) Cool idea though and effective use of the limitation!
You crafted an immersive atmosphere using very little assets, which I appreciate. The music is really nice and fit the game nicely. I did struggle while playing it. The player controller felt quite slippery, and I had very little control over my platforming after gaining the big jump. The concept of the big jump is really cool, and opened up some new areas in cool ways. But I would have liked to have my regular jump available as well. However, you definitely captured the "ridiculously overpowered" vibe with that power-up! So, mission accomplished :)
Thanks!! And the thing that you cant jump normally after gaining a big jump was the idea of the game, like every upgrade is so ridiculously overpowered so it makes game harder but only ultra jump does this thing:(
I really enjoyed this. exploration was well considered, each powerup made me ask questions about the environment and how my new abilities could be leveraged. The small narrative was serviceable and interesting. Sometimes I felt like the big jump got in the way of enjoying the vibe. I think I would have preferred if the big jump was chargeable rather than a static value (Really my only pain point.) The mysterious music and sense of exploration / discovery really sold this for me and I finished it wanting more, and I usually dont play these types of games.
Thanks for the little experience.
Thanks you!!! Actually about a chargeable jump the idea was in that all power-ups is too powerfull so it makes game harder but only jump do that thing so i could add version with chargeable jump later, music i downloaded really long ago and i don't remember where i got it so i'm just lucky. And firstly i wanted to make game bigger but i think it's enough so thank you again for playing and this comment!
Hey you didn't add the game to the page.
Sorry, i fixed
