Greetings, gentlemen!
First of all, let me congratulate you, and express that I've actually enjoyed the game!
Jun is absolute sweetheart! â„
World is almost as bad as what we got today IRL! â„
And writing is semi-decent. ( ^^)!
Played it for about 2 weeks, and finally started getting good with all the mechanics.
Even made 33 million $, at which I was almost as excied, as if it happened in real life. ;)
Problem is, while being really happy with how the run was progressing...
Expecting the game to continue with many stories ahead(being used to endless visual novels, etc)...
Completely out of a blue, all of a sudden â the robot RUNS AWAY, juts like that! ( o _O)
And it's a game over ending too. ( x_x) So, what in the actual heck?!
I've tried playing around with older saves, which didn't helped at all.
Then I started googling for some walkthroughs, wikis, forums, etc...
And with quite some effort found a list of bad endings on some completely random 3'rd party website.
(should've been in the game files, like come on â games used to have manuals!)
But anyways, so turned out, about a week ago(IRL) I clicked some wrong dialogue option whem talking to Priestcan, while randomly bumping at him during a street walk... And that was the reason why many-many days after(IRL) the game just decided to DIE!
I mean, this makes no logical sense, Shanice asked not to mention some inconsequential tech. mumbo-jumbo to the robo-priest, and I didn't tell â this was a nuisance really. And how does it suddenly make completely different robot, just SNAP and run away way later?!
There's no way to fix this too, so it's literally a time bomb, and self-destruct mechanism for the whole run...
And honestly, a piece pf terrible plot writing.
Yeah, there's also BDH part that I didn't even know existed, getting which is extremely cryptic...
And without it game would ALSO kill itself... WHYYY!? Oh. come on!
Of course, I thought maybe restarting the game from 0, and then carefully doing everything to avoid the plot's self-sabotage, but probably would wait for half a year or so for a newer version. (not to repeat through everything for the 2'nd time)
Anyway, so my points:
1. In any game, there absolutely should not be any plot run time bombs. If there's a problem â there should always be ways to fix it. Maybe hard and expensive ways, but not just making player to delete ALL saves, and start from 0 after weeks of playing.
2. There should not be any hidden mandatory plot branches, which player gets 0 hints on how to get to(and especially if missing such a branch activates game's long self-destruct sequence!);
3. Ideally any game should play organic, where progression is obtained through in-game exploration and experimentation, not by googling obscure websites online. Like having some system of in-game tips, some manual(like a .pdf), etc;
But, besides all of the above, I still wanna say that game was REALLY good, and it deserves to be polished, expanded, and eventually finished.
I mean, infinite number if side-stories can be added, events, dialogues, etc... It could get big! And I'd be happy to see it so. â„
With my best regards. ( ^^)/
