This has the potential to become something really engaging and great.

It reminds me a lot of tron and some of those old space sim arcade games.

I tried playing without having right mouse button clicked and whilst disorienting, shooting and having myself get recoiled back that way was interesting, maybe its something that can become part of gameplay?

Turning this into some kind of wave defense game where you get waves of enemies appearing and attacking targets that you need to defend could be great fun! Then have those targets empower certain aspects of the player like fire rate, laser range, laser damage, flying speed, etc. On the next wave if the targets survive might be a cool balance of opportunity and risk?

Thanks for making it!

That's an excellent idea thanks for the feedback

Tested your game and played it—here’s some feedback (:

Pros:

  • The controls are quite “wonky,” but I enjoy them, especially the laser. I used it often to quickly move around.

  • It’s nice that you have VFX feedback on enemy kills and that enemies have SFX on their shots!

Cons:

  • The aim of the laser is quite hard to aim with and is offseted from the ui aim

  • The movement feels slow for a flying game. Even if the play area is contained and small, I still wished I could accelerate and go faster to reach new waves of enemies. Maybe add a boost?

  • Enemies are unclear. It took a while to understand what they were and how they looked, especially since quite a few clip below the ground, making them even harder to see.

Cheers, excellent feedback - thanks very much

I like the presentation and visuals. Flying feels nice.

I saw from the game page that the prototype has no win condition. I was not able to find enemies if there were any.

If there are enemies, I think it would be a good idea to place them in the beginning to make things immediately interesting.

Lasers feel unclear. I don't know which direction they will go. I would like for the laser to shoot forward in the center of the screen. I do like how firing a laser pushes you back.

Thanks adfx that some useful comments to mull over there. I'll take a look at your submission in a bit, thanks for taking the time to play this.

Yeah I think you are bang on with enemies - they are the larger cubes that should wonder around and attack smaller ones but there needs to be a visual cue or some some of UI indicator maybe.

Lasers yeah I will take a look at see about refining, you can also drop a bomb with spacebar
