Fun 2/5: I can absolutely see what the intent of this was, and I like the idea, though I found the difficulty to be a bit too much for me. It was also a little difficult to tell where I was supposed to reflect the shots to, and the enemy AI was a bit erratic as a previous comment said.
Graphics 4/5: Very nice looking, I like the art style though I think making certain things stand out a bit more (like where to reflect shots) would really improve things.
Music/Sound Design 4/5: Nothing groundbreaking, but definitely satisfying, and non-intrusive. I think it lacks a little bit in the sound design side of things. It could do with a few extra sound effects for things like the door opening (I don't remember if there was one off the top of my head, because I only got it to open once and promptly died). But overall, it does the job well.
Concept 4/5: Definitely want to see something like this polished up a little more, perhaps made with a bit more of a friendlier difficulty curve for folks who haven't played games like this. Difficulty is a very common issue with games in this jam, my own included.
Very nice looking game, it's awesome you got this done in two weeks!
Thanks for the review, I 100% agree with the fun part. I enjoyed making the art so I'm very glad people like it! (Though I really wanted to do 3d tbh lol)
Fun concept, but I ended up rage quitting on the pressure plate level. The enemy AI pattern is so erratic, I could not reliably complete that level. I also had issues with bullets reflecting on the inside of my shield. (Maybe a more curved shield would have helped.) The tutorials do become distracting after every respawn,
This game does have one of the best UI's that I've seen so far.
Cool game! I had a very similar Idea at the start (which evolved into FURGLE! with my team) so its cool to see it in action. the enemy was cool with the interesting AI that tries to be a certain distance away was really cool but it felt maybe slightly too random as to which direction it was going to go in, maybe there's a pattern and I needed more time dut it didn't feel like it. i loved most of the levels as it was a simple idea. Still, the boxes were a nightmare because I never felt like I could hit them when I wanted to, and it just kinda felt like luck. Sometimes, if you hit them on the side they would move backward. I stopped playing on the third box level where the box was behind the overheated wire cause it would just take forever to do i think.
overall though i think it was great!! after a lil bit of polish this game would be fricken awesome :).
Oh and i feel like i should mention that the room with the big flashing wires was just too hard to look at and might need a photosensitivity warning?
Thanks for the feedback! After the voting period ends, I will upload a polished build with most of the stuff fixed. Also the update will have just a little bit more content and QoL features.
oh awesome! im excited to try it out :)
Great game, very smartly made and unique concept. Amazing presentation! The difficulty is pretty high(not necessarily a bad thing) and I feel like the reflect ability could use some polishing.
The tutorial crashes the game on Linux, and is there more than one level?
what distro do you use? there’s overall 10 levels
Arch Linux with KDE desktop environment.
