I agree with sathalom that the jump needs some sort of visual feedback.
I spent a long time stuck in the bottom area trying to figure out how the jump worked.
It's very different to normal jump mechanics, which makes it interesting, but also means you can't rely on the player's knowledge from past games to figure it out.
I would suggest limiting the charge at some point as well (or lowering the limit if there is one) because I did some confusing bouncing at one point.

I also personally prefer the inverse to the timer setup that you've used (second game in this jam that I say this to).
Instead of counting down as an end condition, I would prefer it if you counted up.
Then your score is not the number of deliveries, but how long you took to get them.
That way slow players like me (2 deliveries, *almost* 3) can still see the whole game in one playthrough, which would let us try and plan better for the next run.

Aside from that, I don't really have much else to say.
This is a solid jam game that feels complete.
A lot of jam games end up feeling unfinished, or broken and buggy to the point where they aren't playable - which this was not.
I see this was your first jam, so you should be very proud of that.
:)

Oh, this last part could be a "me problem"; but the first few times I tried to play your game I couldn't run it.
I got an error talking about Microsoft Visual Studio runtime 2015 not being installed.
I Googled, and tried to install it, but the installer said it was already installed...
Then, I played a different jam game a few days later that had a similar complaint, but the game offered to auto-install for me.
I tried your game again immediately after, but it didn't work at the time; BUT, today it mysteriously worked for seemingly no reason...
I haven't developed in unreal very much; but it might be worth checking if there's a packaging option related to this.
If not, then I don't know... my PC had ghosts this week.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I managed 8 delieveries!

Here's some feedback:

  • Wow you can really launch yourself with the jump button! By far the most fun thing in the game! The game might need a roof haha
    • I feel like it would help a lot to have a charging gauge for it with visual/audio feedback. It would help the jumps feel more satisfying but as also it would be easier to understand them since the amount that you can charge is like 10x any other game, I didn't really expect it and it took a while to understand.
    • The dash button on the other hand, felt disorienting and nowhere near as useful.
    • I wonder if it might be better to remove the "normal" movement altogether since it feels slow, the jump is fun and what feels different and is way more useful. You could pretend the main character is a dude on a pogo-stick or something.
  • The use of the word "simulator" in the title made me expect some kind of parody but that did not seem to be present, not sure if intentional or not.
  • The pickup range on the boxes felt a bit short, sometimes  I'd try to pick one up and turn only to realise I hadn't come close enough.
    • Since there is no reason to put down or even choose not to pickup a box, I wonder if it might be better to just have it be picked up on touch and remove the option to drop? Just a thought.
  • Suggestion if you want to expand the game: I feel like interactive level pieces like jump pads or other things that propel the player in reaction to their action could make this quite the hectic fun. A bit like playing the ball in pinball.

Good job on the game!

Thanks! This was our first ever game so we just wanted to get something out even if it didn't match the original design. Thanks again for the feedback, and hopefully in the next game we make we can implement a lot of the QOL changes. And dang, I've only gotten to 4-5 deliveries so good job :

Since this is your first game(jam) I feel compelled to add context; that while my list of feedback/things to improve might seem big, in reality all games (especially game jam games) have an infinite amount of things to improve, and that simply having put out something that works and is playable and understandable for a complete stranger that doesn't know the game is a big win.
