Fun 4/5: It was interesting trying to get the different endings. One of them required a bit of paying attention, which I always like. Pretty basic but great for what it is.
Graphics 2/5: Could definitely use some better artwork. It's very rough and ready, but it gets the job done.
Music/Sound Design 3/5: Pretty basic, does what it needs to, nothing really stands out except for the one song you're supposed to play to get the "good" (I think) ending.
Concept 4/5: Not a bad idea at all. It's awesome that you play as a bard instead of just fighting the dragon, which obviously fits the theme well. I think there are ways it could be a bit more sophisticated mechanically though, incorporating some more RPGish elements, but that's a bit much to ask for a game jam. Definitely looking forward to seeing this develop!
I enjoyed your game! I tried to get all the endings, i ended up getting 3. The good ending at the end for playing the right song, the forgotten ending, and the one where i die for trying to immobilize the dragon. I hope that was all of them. This was a short fun experience with its own art style. The concept of a visual novel is a unique idea for this jam. Keep it up!
There is one other ending, but getting it is not entirely intuitive. (I might treat it as a secret ending.)
The mechanical idea I was going for is that spells, or magic energy is a finite resource. Using spells early on means not having them available in later chapters. It's something I'll try to flesh out a bit better if I continue working on this project.
great thinking to have a visual novel for the theme. I didn't know there was a dialogue plugin for godot! seems handy for a multitude of situations
Looks pretty interesting. Looking forward to seeing where the story goes next!
