[Guide] I made a massive comprehensive guide for this game!

Basically, this guide covers various things about LonaRPG:

  • Mechanics Overview
  • Combat Summary and Missable Traits
  • Missable Quest Rewards
  • Farming Methods and Exploit
  • (more TBA)

I am still continuously working on this guide, since there are certain topics that I want to cover in great details, e.g. how the Loan system in Noer's backstreet works.

But the thing is that, I've been working on this guide for like 2 weeks already, I figure I would never be able to release it if I keep adding more stuff, so I should just publicise whatever is already in. The complete sections are mostly proofread already, and hopefully it can help out new players!

Also here is a video on the BEST money-making method I've found. Make sure to TURN ON VIDEO CAPTIONS!

(I don't really use itch.io normally, LMK how this first post goes)

your guide on steam should be centered on the hell experience since your guide only covers hard since hp doesn't come back with rest at full stamina on hell

To be fair, it's already mentioned in-game before you deliberately pick the difficulty yourself. And if you are willingly playing on a higher difficulty, I imagine you won't be needing those beginner tips to begin with.

i consider hell to be the normal difficulty since it has access to all the mechanics of the normal game

I believe SAT is short for Satiated/Satiety.

Stonks!

i also found out about the same exploit when i got bored and wanted to explore every nook and crannies of the game, though i didn't use it much since it was pretty repetitive
i also checked your page and i'll lend some extra knowledge that i know of: hooded cloak doesn't increase your WIS.. anymore at least before we got the whole plague doctor set, it instead increases your ATK and SCU by (i believe) 3, which is pretty good imo
you should mention that if you're playing on hell mode you'd likely want to have 20 SUR or 10 SUR as a mage to be able to make cheese or smoked meat
and you forgot the most important and absolute life changing tip of all: holding shift + ctrl + alt makes the game 2x faster
"Martyr's Set" can be obtained during the second to last cocona questline so you dont have to get whatever the "grace of the saints" are
pretty sure you cant sell your paper and profit from it anymore at least when i tried last time, i also dont recommend taking loans unless you're about to start a newgame+ then you could just do it for the free extra money (which is about 2.5 gold coins)

honestly from all the testing i've done i cant really tell what the definitive "best" setup is, they all seem to have their issues.... well besides one maybe
i haven't tried it but i thought perhaps mage abom lona without pessimist trait could actually be the best in terms of quality of life, having insane damage and being able to easily heal themselves up with every kill, i think you still miss out on a big 5 WIS if you dont use pessimist though- but i guess thats not too bad when your level is already high

"Hooded Cloak" and "Medical Cloak" are different items, actually. IIRC The former is purchasable at South Gate Camp after it's repaired, and the latter is sold at Elise's clinic as usual.

... and I didn't know about the life-changing tip at all since I'm playing with a controller. Does it just fast-forward dialogues, or actually make *everything* go twice as fase?
(This and the Martyr's Set I'll mention in the guide later)

I think you can still sell ID paper? You do need to talk to the specific thug NPC in the backstreet, while carrying the real paper on you of course. I don't see why this would be removed. And well, the loan works just about the way it does IRL - Don't take more than what you can repay!
(It's good for a speedrun when you try to buy all the equipment before hiding in fish island)

Honestly any build can kill things very fast when your level is high and you know what you are doing. Most of my playtime is spent reading dialogues & traversing the world anyway, so an optimal build isn't really all that important ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Life-Changing Tip is a Combo of:

- Sneak = Ctrl

- Sprint = Shift

- Hold to Look = Alt

You probably know where the Sprint Button's at the Controller, so the Sneak and Look Buttons combining all 3 will do a fast forward, useful for Hostage Rescues (or Use Trumpet Rally if they're deviating.)

it makes everything go fast
cutscenes, transitions, dialogues, the game (npc's and yourself move twice as fast), i dont have a controller but im guessing you just gotta hold the run, sneak and the "look in direction" button of the controller
